While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Gaza death toll surpasses 44,600 as Israel kills 52 more Palestinians

By Ikram Kouachi

07.12.2024 -

Anadolu, ANKARA

At least 52 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, in four massacres, in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll since last year to 44,664, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported on Saturday.

A ministry statement added that some 105,976 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

“Israeli forces killed 52 people and injured 142 others in four massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Israel has launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas in October last year.

The second year of genocide in Gaza has drawn growing international condemnation, with officials and institutions labeling the attacks and blocking of aid deliveries as a deliberate attempt to destroy a population.

On Nov. 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.

At least 10 Palestinians killed in ongoing Israeli genocidal airstrikes on Gaza

GAZA, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

At least 10 Palestinians have been killed in the latest wave of Israeli genocidal airstrikes and attacks across the Gaza Strip over the last few hours, according to local and medical sources.

In Rafa'h, southern Gaza, two Palestinians were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit a motorcycle near the Abu 'Halawa intersection east of the city.

Another three people were killed when Israeli warplanes struck a gathering of civilians east of the. In a separate incident, a young man was shot dead by Israeli forces in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafa'h.

A civilian was also killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle in Dair El-Bala'h, central Gaza, while another person lost his life when an Israeli missile hit a residential apartment in the western part of the city.

In Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike targeted a group of people in Al-Shaikh Radhwan neighborhood, resulting in one young man killed and several others wounded. A child later succumbed to critical injuries sustained in an earlier attack near Al-Shifa Tower in western Gaza City.

Regarding the situation in the Kamal 'Udwan Hospital in northern Gaza, Israeli tanks have pulled back slightly, positioning themselves around 500 meters from the facility, according to WAFA correspondent. However, sniper fire from elevated positions still poses a deadly risk for anyone attempting to move in the area.

Meanwhile, both casualties and wounded remain stranded in the area, unable to be reached by emergency teams due to the dangerous conditions. Reports also indicate further shelling on a home belonging to the Al-Mab'hou'h family, with additional casualties feared.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 44,600 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 105,900 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Israeli genocidal airstrike on Gaza neighborhood kills three Palestinians, injures others

GAZA, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

An Israeli airstrike on Tuffa'h neighborhood, east of Gaza City, Saturday evening killed three Palestinians and injured others.

Israeli fighter jets targeted a house near Al-Shawwa Square in the neighborhood, claiming the lives of three civilians and injuring others.

They also pounded a residential compound near Kamal 'Udwan Hospital in the northern Strip.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Hospital, 'Husam Abu Safiya, said that the hospital was hit by over 100 shells, missiles and drone-fired bombs.

He described the situation in the western part of the hospital building as appalling after the operating rooms, roofs, yards and windows of newborn intensive care units were affected by the Israeli missiles.

He added that this Israeli aggression resulted in three casualties in the hospital and caused damage to the water tanks, oxygen generators, water pumps and fuel tanks, with a fuel tank catching fire.

He called for the immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression against the hospital.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 44,664 Palestinians and injuring 105,976 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Israeli genocidal  bombardment on Gaza neighborhood kills four women

GAZA, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli bombardment on Al-Saftawi neighborhood, north of Gaza City, Saturday evening killed four women, according to local sources.

They said that Israeli aerial and artillery genocidal bombardment targeted a house sheltering displaced persons in the neighborhood, claiming the lives of four women.

Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets targeted a plot of cultivated land at Wadi Abu Rashid in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Strip, at a time when Israeli artillery shelled Jabalya Al-Balad in the northern Strip.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israeli occupation apartheid regime police kill Palestinian young man in northern Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Saturday 7-December-2024

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

A Palestinian young man was martyred on Saturday morning when the Israeli occupation apartheid regime soldiers opened fire at him at the Qalandya checkpoint in the north of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

The Red Crescent said that one of its ambulance crews received the body of a young man at the Qalandya checkpoint and took him to hospital.

The Palestinian health ministry identified the young martyr as 27-year-old Tariq Ghazawna.

Immediately following the shooting incident, the Israeli police closed the checkpoint that connect Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) with Ramallah and prevented Palestinian cars from moving in both directions of the road.

Eyewitnesses said that policemen at the checkpoint opened fire at the young man directly and with no reason.

His maternal uncle told Al-Qastal news website that Ghazawna was the only son of his mother after his father died when he was a little child, adding that the martyr was a worker.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap three Palestinians from the West Bank

RAMALLAH, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening detained three Palestinians from the occupied West Bank governorates of Ramallah and Al-Khaleel (Hebron), according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces stormed Al-Nabi Sali'h village, northwest of Ramallah, and ransacked several houses, simultaneously while opening gunfire and flying a drone above the village.

The soldiers detained a villager and ransacked his family’s house, turning it upside down.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces barged their way into Khirbet Safa, one of the hamlets making up Masafir Yatta, before assaulting and detaining two brothers.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces conducted separate raids into the villages of Qiffin, Al-Nazla Al-Sharqiya, Al-Nazla Al-Gharbiya, Nazlat 'Eisa and Baqa Al-Sharqiya, north of Tulkarm, deploying in streets and obstructing villagers’ movement.

They carried out a similar raid in the city of Qalqilya, where the gun-toting soldiers deployed in several neighborhoods and ransacked a number of houses.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which also take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Al-Dhameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 10,200 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 270 children and 94 female prisoners.

This number includes 3,443 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Al-Dhameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one.

IOFs kidnap several Palestinians in West Bank raids

Saturday 7-December-2024

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The IOFs went on the rampage through homes during its arrest campaign in those areas.

In a separate incident, Israeli soldiers confiscated on Saturday morning a Palestinian car during a raid in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus.

Local official Raja 'Owais said that the IOF stormed the village and seized a car belonging to 'Ayyash 'Owais without providing a reason for its measure.

Israeli occupatin forces raid medical center near Ramallah, kidnap injured Palestinian

RAMALLAH, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces raided a medical center in the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, on Saturday, detaining a young Palestinian man who was receiving treatment for injuries sustained during confrontations earlier in the day.

According to local sources, the Israeli forces stormed the town’s medical center and detained Mousa Farraj, a Palestinian in his twenties, despite him being in critical condition with breathing difficulties. The soldiers removed his oxygen equipment and also physically assaulted the medical staff at the facility.

Earlier in the day, confrontations broke out in Silwad, during which Israeli forces fired stun grenades and toxic gas, causing several residents to suffer from suffocation.

In response, the Ministry of Health condemned the Israeli raid on the emergency center, calling it a blatant violation of international law and agreements designed to protect healthcare facilities and workers. The Ministry emphasized that such actions undermine the safety and well-being of patients and medical personnel.

The Ministry of Health reiterated its urgent appeal to international institutions, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, to intervene immediately and halt the ongoing Israeli attacks on healthcare centers and staff. It called for immediate protection for the entire healthcare system, including all its components.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has been alerted to more than 600 attacks on healthcare facilities and workers in the West Bank, including in the health sector, since October 2023, according to the ministry.

Israeli occupation forces seal off entrances of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) governorate

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening sealed off the entrances of the city of Hebron along with its towns, villages and refugee camps, according to security and local sources.

They said that the forces closed the main access roads leading to the city of Hebron, Farsh Al-Hawa, Al-Fahs, Ras Al-Joara, 'Hal'houl and Bait Ka'hil bridges, Bani Na'eem, Idhna, Bait 'Ainoun, Sair, Tarqoumya, Bait ;Awwa, Dair Samit, Doura, Yatta, Al-Samou‘, Al-Dthahiriya as well as Al-Fawwar and Al-'Arroub refugee camps with earth mounds and checkpoints.

The occupation forces denied Palestinians access into the camp on foot, firing barrages of live ammunition and tear gas canisters towards them and causing a number of suffocation cases.

Israeli severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions.

Illegal Israeli settlers torch tent south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem)

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), December 7, 2024 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers Saturday evening torched a tent in Al-Minya village, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), according to a local source.

He added that the illegal Israeli settlers have recently stepped up their attacks against the villagers and their property, torching crops and seizing equipment.

The settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonies in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

South African President calls for an end to genocide in Gaza

Saturday 7-December-2024

ALGIERS, (PIC)

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for an end to the genocide being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, asserting that the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip represent a “stain on humanity.”

Ramaphosa made these remarks during a speech he delivered on Friday evening before the Algerian parliament as part of his official visit to Algeria at the invitation of President Abdul Madjeed Tebboun. He reaffirmed his country’s steadfast position in supporting the freedom of the Palestinian people, stating, “We know what it means to be colonized and oppressed, and we stand firmly with the Palestinians in their struggle for freedom.”

The South African president demanded an immediate end to the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians, emphasizing that his country will not remain passive in the face of violations. He added, “We have taken legal action against Israel before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide.”

Ramaphosa explained that the crimes committed against the Palestinians include “the killing of children and women, targeting schools, and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid,” describing these acts as “genocide” and a “stain on humanity.” He also affirmed that Nelson Mandela taught South Africa that its freedom would not be complete until the Palestinian people achieve their full rights to freedom and self-determination.

Ramaphosa noted that some parties warned South Africa that resorting to the International Court of Justice might be futile, but he insisted on pursuing this path in support of the Palestinian people. He said, “The Palestinians urgently need our support in the face of what is happening in Gaza.”

On December 29, 2023, South Africa filed a lawsuit against Israel before the International Court of Justice, accusing it of violating the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

During a meeting between President Ramaphosa and Algerian President Tebboun, the two leaders emphasized the necessity of holding Israel accountable before the International Court of Justice for the crimes committed against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Qatari Prime Minister and Guterres call for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Saturday 7-December-2024

DOHA, (PIC)

Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Mu'hammed Bin 'Abdul Ra'hman Al-Thani said on Saturday that the genocide occurring in the Gaza Strip will impact the region, with its repercussions extending to Lebanon and Syria. He called for innovative solutions to end the current violence in the region and the world.

During the opening of the Doha Forum, attended by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tameem Bin 'Hamad Al-Thani, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of putting an end to the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, which is experiencing violent turmoil and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with its effects spreading to Lebanon and Syria.

He warned that “the continuation of the situation in Gaza will have serious repercussions threatening the security of the region, as we have seen in Lebanon.” He added that “adhering to traditional approaches in dealing with intractable crises leads to their exacerbation,” pointing to the “need to innovate new methods to end the violence and establish sustainable peace.”

He noted that “the experience of the achieved truce has proven the possibility of successful diplomatic efforts,” questioning: “How can an international community that speaks of technological solutions fail to protect civilians in conflict areas?”

During the opening session of the Doha Forum, Qatari Emir Shaikh Tameem Bin 'Hamad Al-Thani honored journalists from Arab and foreign media outlets who covered the war in Gaza and Lebanon, including Al Jazeera correspondent in Gaza Wa-il Al Da'hdou'h and photojournalist Mo'taz Al-Azayza.

The 22nd edition of the Doha Forum commenced on Saturday under the theme “The Imperative of Innovation,” aiming to explore how innovative thinking can reshape the future and lead to a safer, more sustainable, and prosperous reality in a rapidly changing world with the accelerating development of artificial intelligence systems and the digital economy.

In a related context, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said that the disaster in the Gaza Strip represents a “total collapse of our shared humanity,” amid the ongoing Israeli genocide against the region for more than 14 months.

Guterres wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday evening, “The disaster in Gaza is nothing but a total collapse of our shared humanity,” adding that this “nightmare in Gaza must stop.” He emphasized that “we cannot continue to ignore what is happening” in the region.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 150,000 Palestinian martyrs and injured, most of whom are children and women, as well as more than 11,000 missing persons, amidst massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the United Nations Security Council’s decision to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Struggling to afford essentials: The crisis of milk and diapers in Gaza

By 'Husain Al-Sinwar

GAZA, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) —

In the heart of Gaza, residents are grappling with an overwhelming shortage of essential goods. Among the most critical shortages are baby formula and diapers, items that many families can no longer afford due to a devastating combination of war, economic collapse, and soaring inflation.

'Omar Jasir, a father of two, found himself in a heated dispute with a vendor at a local market. The vendor had refused to offer a discount on three baby diapers that Jasir desperately needed for his daughter, citing the already inflated prices.

"We used to buy an entire pack for 20 shekels, containing 45 pieces," Jasir recalled. "Now, due to the war, we have to buy them one by one, and the cost of a single diaper exceeds 8 shekels, depending on the size and the vendor."

Like many others in Gaza, Jasir is struggling to meet his family's basic needs. "How can someone like me, unemployed and unable to provide for my family, manage when I can't even afford the diapers or milk for my child?" he said with frustration.

The situation is equally dire for Behaa Al-Shaweesh, a government employee who, despite having a steady monthly salary, finds himself unable to buy basic necessities due to the crippling economic conditions.

"The high commission fees to access my salary, reaching up to 30% or more, make it impossible to afford diapers and milk for my child," he explained. "Some diapers cost as much as 270 shekels for a box, and the cheaper options still reach 200 shekels. And even when I try to purchase online, it's even more expensive due to additional charges from the merchants."

The soaring prices and dwindling supplies of diapers and milk have led to rampant price gouging, with traders setting prices based on their own whims, often without any regulation or oversight. "These goods are becoming rare in the markets, and traders exploit the situation to sell at inflated prices, making it impossible for the average citizen to keep up," Al-Shaweesh added.

For families like Ahmed Al-Najjar's, the shortage of essentials has driven them to seek assistance from charitable organizations. These organizations provide a small portion of the much-needed items, though the demand far exceeds the supply. "Charities are doing their best, but it’s never enough," Al-Najjar said. "I’ve had to resort to using cloth rags instead of diapers because they are so expensive. The weather makes drying them difficult, adding to the challenges."

Ibrahim 'Awadhallah, another resident, faces a double burden. In addition to struggling to find diapers for his young children, he also needs adult diapers for his elderly mother and his 15-year-old son, who suffers from a condition that causes bedwetting.

"I need at least five or six adult diapers a day, but they’re so expensive now, each one costing 15 shekels. It's become a huge part of our monthly expenses, and it affects everything else we need," he explained. "I urge traders and suppliers to have compassion for the citizens who are already suffering from the war and economic hardships."

While citizens like 'Awadhallah, Jasser, and Al-Shaweesh are left to endure these hardships, the situation is equally difficult for the vendors selling these goods.

Ahmed Abu Mustafa, a local vendor, emphasizes that the price hikes are beyond their control. "We sell at the prices we buy from suppliers," he said. "If the prices from suppliers drop, we’ll lower our prices too. But right now, we have no choice but to sell at these inflated prices."

Merchant Mohamed Al-Madhoun attributes the price increases to a variety of factors, including the ongoing blockade, limited product availability, and the rising costs of transportation, especially from Israel.

"The closure of the borders, coupled with the transportation costs, has led to higher prices for essential goods like diapers and milk. If traders stop importing these items, they will disappear from the market altogether, and the costs will skyrocket."

For the past 14 months, Gaza has been in the midst of an ongoing crisis. The Israeli onslaught, compounded by the severe economic strain and blockades, has made it increasingly difficult for families to afford basic necessities. The shortage of essential goods like milk and diapers has pushed residents to the brink of desperation, as they struggle to survive amidst the soaring costs and scarcity.

The dire situation has created a harsh reality for the people of Gaza, where every day is a battle not just for survival, but for the ability to care for their loved ones.

OHCHR: Israel’s attacks on displaced people in Gaza “war crime” and “crimes against humanity”

Saturday 7-December-2024

ISTANBUL, (PIC)

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has stressed the need for Israel to “immediately stop the forcible transfer of Palestinians in Gaza, allow people to return home, and, in the meantime, ensure the safety of civilians, including in shelters.”

In a statement published on the UN website on Thursday, OHCHR condemned Israel’s repeated targeting of tent encampments and shelters in Gaza as a “war crime” and “crimes against humanity.”

“Yesterday, December 4, an Israeli airstrike hit a makeshift tent encampment sheltering 21 families in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younus, which had been unilaterally declared a “safe humanitarian zone” by the Israeli military. The strike, together with secondary explosions, destroyed all 21 tents and killed at least 23 Palestinians, including at least 4 children and 2 women – one of them pregnant – while seriously injuring others. The Israeli military claims to have targeted senior Hamas commanders and alleges that secondary explosions were likely caused by weapons present in the area. However, according to the information available to UN Human Rights Office, it was the ‘gas cylinders for domestic use’ that appear to have caused these secondary explosions.”

“This is the seventh attack on an IDP tent encampment in the past two weeks, altogether killing at least 34 Palestinians, including 10 children and 3 women. Four of these attacks occurred in the Israeli-declared “humanitarian zone” in Al-Mawasi, killing at least 11 Palestinians including a woman who died with her 2 daughters, and 4 additional children.

“Almost everyone in Gaza has been displaced more than once due to ceaseless Israeli displacement orders and bombardment. In this context, the pattern of attacks on shelters including schools and tent camps raise concerns about Israel’s failure to comply with its obligations under International Humanitarian Law including the principles of distinction, proportionality, and precautions in attack. Depending on the circumstances, such strikes may amount to the deliberate targeting of civilians- a ‘war crime’ and could also amount to ‘crimes against humanity’ when conducted as part of a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population,” according to the OHCHR statement.

“The UN Human Rights Office urges the Israeli military to prioritize the protection of civilians in Gaza. We call for independent, impartial and effective investigations for all such attacks on tents sheltering displaced families that have led to the deaths of civilians, including women and children, since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023 and for accountability for those found responsible.”

In a related incident, 17 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens were injured on Friday evening when the Israeli army bombed a house belonging to the family of Al-Nadi in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Earlier on the same day, bodies of six victims, including three children, two women and some body parts, as well as over 30 wounded civilians, mostly children and women, were evacuated to Al-'Awda Hospital following an Israeli airstrike on a house that also damaged other nearby homes in Al-Nusayrat refugeet camp.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
