While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names.

Israeli ex-captive, Liat Atzili, says she was treated well in Gaza, refuting the Israeli government’s account

“I was treated well” – Israeli ex-detainee refutes her government’s account on Gaza

Sunday 28-July-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Another recent testimony from a former Israeli female captive in Gaza has vindicated further the total difference between detention conditions in Palestinian captivity and “Israeli prisons” — which have become slaughterhouses under the authority of far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

Former captive in Gaza Liat Atzili spoke with Israel’s Haaretz newspaper. In her extraordinary account of what had taken place, Atzili said that the family and her captors in the civilian home where she was held did not restrict her movement and treated her well.

Atzili was released on November 29, 2023 during the one-week ceasefire between 'Hamas and the Israeli occupation government.

She spent a total of 54 days in Gaza where she was reportedly held in an apartment in Khan Younus City in the southern Gaza Strip.

Atzili told Haaretz that she was treated humanely – which is in sharp contrast to how Palestinian prisoners are treated by Israeli forces and jailers.
According to Haaretz, Atzili was taken at about 11 a.m. on October 7, when “two armed men in uniform burst into the unlocked room” where she was staying. When the Haaretz journalist asked her if the captors were “scary,” she said “Not particularly.”

“They had weapons, but they didn’t threaten me. They told me, ‘You don’t have to be afraid, we won’t hurt you, come with us.’ They gave me time to get dressed and organized, but I wasn’t capable of doing that because I was in shock,” she continued, according to Haaretz.
Atzili said that the men did not touch her and spoke to her in English, telling her all the time not to worry.

“They seemed really worried about me and wanted me to eat and drink. They said, ‘We will protect you, you’re safe here, nothing will happen to you.’ They let me shower, change clothes. They washed my clothes,” Atzili explained.

Although Israel imposed a full blockade on Gaza starting on October 9, which led to a widespread famine across the Palestinian population in the Strip, Israeli captives were not left starving.

To the contrary, Atzili, who is a vegetarian, was granted special treatment.

“They were shocked that I’m a vegetarian. ‘So, what do you eat?’ they asked. I told them I really like pizza. So one of them got on his bicycle and brought a pizza from Crispy Pizza in Khan Younus,” she said.

Atzili said she moved to an apartment where she stayed along with another captive, 30-year-old Ilana Gritzewsky, who was also released on November 30, as part of the prisoner exchange deal.

“Ilana and I remained with them for the whole period. They were about 30 years old. They weren’t armed or in uniform. We stayed in that apartment for about 10 days and were then moved to another one. And that was it,” Atzili said.

According to the woman, the guards were a teacher and a lawyer. “Both are married and each of them has a child.”
She told Haaretz that “she still thinks about what is happening to people in Gaza as the war continues,” and accused her government of having “sacrificed the hostages on the altar of its political survival.”

In a related context, seven Palestinian prisoners in Israel’s Ofer military prison in the occupied West Bank have tried to take their own lives because of the harsh treatment they received from Israeli jailers.

“Prisoners are subjected to beatings during arrest and after their detention in Israeli jails,” the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said in a statement.
“If a prisoner is late for the daily stand-up count or late waking up at 4 a.m., he is beaten and abused,” the Commission, which recently sent a lawyer to visit the prisoners, added.

The Commission said the seven detainees attempted to commit suicide due to the inhumane detention conditions and their exposure to constant brutal treatment at the hands of Israeli jailers. As they are also exposed to starvation, medical neglect and other unbearable violations, prisoners have come to prefer death to the miserable incarceration conditions in Israeli prisons, the Commission affirmed.

Euro-Med: Israel’s displacement orders to Palestinain civilians are a “crime against humanity”

Sunday 28-July-2024

GENEVA, (PIC)

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has accused the Israeli occupation army of deliberately exposing the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza to coercive living conditions that lead them to actual death as part of its ongoing genocidal war on the coastal enclave.

“The forced displacement orders that were issued by the Israeli army in the north of Rafa'h and south of Khan Younus in the southern Gaza Strip, the systematic expulsion of residents from their homes and places of residence, the confinement of hundreds of thousands of them in limited geographical areas that are constantly shrunk, and their exposure to deliberate targeting from air, land and sea reflect Israel’s persistence in committing the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip for the 295th consecutive day,” Euro-Med said in a statement on Saturday.

Euro-Med explained that the evacuation orders that were issued by Israeli forces on Saturday morning in different neighborhoods of Khan Younusare “in fact forced displacement orders that constitute a crime against humanity according to the Rome Statute.”

“The recent forced displacement operation is part of the largest mass forced displacement campaign that has so far affected about 2,000,000 people in the Gaza Strip, most of them forcibly displaced multiple times,” Euro-Med underlined.

Euro-Med called anew for international action to stop Israel’s genocide and all its war crimes in Gaza, protect the civilians there, ensure its compliance with the international law and the International Court of Justice’s orders, and impose effective sanctions on it.

Lavrov: Netanyahu’s goal of destroying Hamas is unrealistic

Sunday 28-July-2024

MOSCOW, (PIC)

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said on Sunday that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declared goal of destroying the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip “is not realistic at all.”

The Russian news agency TASS reported Lavrov’s confirmation that “the destruction of Hamas is an unrealistic task, as it is an existing organization with sufficient capabilities and support, including from the Islamic world.”

Commenting on the incident in the occupied Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams, the Russian Foreign Minister pointed out that Moscow does not yet see any prospects for ending the bloodshed in the Middle East, adding that the Israeli retaliatory measures against the Gaza Strip are unacceptable.

While Lavrov said that Moscow condemns all terrorist attacks, he expressed his surprise at Israeli statements claiming that there are no civilians in Gaza, and that they are all terrorists starting from the age of three.

The Russian minister pointed out that his country opposed the methods chosen by the Israeli leadership to respond to the Al-Aqsa Flood, stressing that the Israeli methods have violated all conceivable standards of international humanitarian law.

Lavrov added, “I felt deeply disturbed when Israel and its leaders began to argue that these methods are fully justified.”

He referred to what he called the double standards of the West regarding the Ukrainian conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying that these standards “are now clearly visible.”

Earlier, in mid-December of the past year, the Russian Foreign Minister said that it is unacceptable for Israel to use the Hamas Movement as a pretext to collectively punish the Palestinian people.

Israel is waging a genocide war on Gaza, which has resulted in more than 39,000 martyrs, more than 90,000 wounded, mostly children and women, and 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction of health and educational infrastructure and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children, according to United Nations data.

Lazzarini: Only 14 percent of Gaza not under evacuation orders

Sunday 28-July-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini said that Israeli evacuation orders create “havoc” and “panic” among the population of the Gaza Strip. Currently, only 14 per cent of areas in Gaza are not under the “evacuation orders,” he added.

“Almost everyone in Gaza has been impacted by these orders. Many were forced to flee on average once a month since the war began nine months ago,” Lazzarini said on X on Sunday.

“This evacuation tactic only brings more misery, fear and suffering for people who have nothing to do with this war.”

A man told our UNRWA teams recently that he was forced to flee twice within 10 hours, he added.

Lazzarini said, “People continue to search for safety: the most precious, the most nonexistent.”

“The people of Gaza are not pinballs or chess pieces, they are people,” he underlined.

Haniyya calls for pro-Gaza protests on Aug. 3

Sunday 28-July-2024

DOHA, (PIC)

'Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyya announced that Saturday, August 3, will be a “national and international day in support of Gaza and Palestinian prisoners.”

In a statement published on Sunday evening, Haniyya called for “mass participation” in marches and demonstrations to demand a halt to Israel’s genocide war on Gaza, and an end to the abuse of “heroic Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli detention.”

“We look forward to August 3 being a decisive day of visible action in all parts of Palestine, in refugee camps, in the diaspora, in the Arab and Islamic world, and among all free people of the world, in support of our people in the Gaza Strip and our detainees in the prisons of the occupation,” the 'Hamas leader said.

The Gaza Strip has been under brutal bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7.

Besides the large number of casualties and the huge displacement of people, basic food, fuel, water and medical supplies have run out for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the tight Israeli blockade and the massive destruction of infrastructure and facilities.

Thousands of Gazans forcibly displaced by Israeli army for 'military operations'

GAZA, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) –

Thousands of Palestinian civilians were Sunday forcibly displaced from Al-Bureij camp and its outskirts in central Gaza Strip after the Israeli occupation army warned them to evacuate some areas in preparation for military operations.

Eyewitnesses reported that thousands of civilians began to evacuate from areas in Al-Buraij camp and its outskirts, and headed to the city of Dair El-Bala'h andAl- Nusayrat.

The occupation army had ordered Palestinians in Al-Buraij and Shuhada areas to evacuate immediately and head to the "humanitarian area" created in Al-Mawasi.

During the past months, the occupation army has called on people to leave their places of residence and head to these neighborhoods and blocks in the southern Gaza Strip, claiming that they are "humanitarian and safe."

The area that the occupation army claims is "humanitarian" and forces citizens to head to lacks the minimum requirements for human life, in addition to being overcrowded with displaced people.

Palestinian prisoners at Ofer Prison experiencing starvation, medical neglect, and deprivation of basic rights

RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) –

The crackdown on Palestinian detainees at the Israeli occupation's Ofer Prison has reached a crisis point, with reports of severe mistreatment, including systematic starvation, since October 7, 2023, according to a lawyer from the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority.

The lawyer, who recently visited Ofer Prison, southwest of Ramallah, reported seven suicide attempts by detainees due to the dire conditions, brutal treatment by guards, and the use of hunger and medical neglect as forms of collective punishment. The detainees are subjected to beatings during arrest and in prison, especially if they are late for roll call or fail to wake up at the designated time (4 a.m.) each day.

One detainee suffered severe burns while taking a shower with excessively hot water, a situation resulting from the prison administration’s control over water temperature. This detainee has not received medical treatment for the burns.

Additionally, Amr Abu Khalil, a cancer patient, was assaulted while being transferred for chemotherapy treatment, only to later be informed that his treatment session had been canceled.

Another detainee, Basheer Zaghloul Khateeb from Beer Zait, has been subjected to severe beatings during his arrest and has lost over 12 kilograms since his detention on February 18, 2023.

The lawyer also highlighted the severe overcrowding in the prison, with at least 11 detainees confined to each cell. Five of them must sleep on the floor while the others share metal bunk beds. They lack basic necessities, including adequate clothing, blankets, and food.

Abbas’s family stated to WAFA that his health condition has significantly deteriorated due to the lack of medical care. They accused the occupation authorities of neglecting his health condition, which has led to worsening paralysis following an incident on the 15th of this month when Abbas swallowed his tongue, resulting in his partial paralysis.

The family has placed full responsibility for his health on the Israeli authorities and noted that despite protests from fellow detainees at the prison—including returning their food trays in protest—there has been no improvement in Abbas's medical treatment.

They have called upon humanitarian and human rights organizations to intervene and assist in saving his life.

'Abbas was detained on April 23, 2023, at a military checkpoint near the town of Salfeet in the central West Bank, and has been held under administrative detention without charges or trial.

Illegal Israeli settlers torch dozens of olive trees in W. Bank

Sunday 28-July-2024

NABLUS, (PIC)

A horde of the illegal Israeli extremist Jewish settlers burned on Sunday dozens of olive trees in Madama village, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Chief of the village council 'Abdullah Ziyada said that settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar set fire to a vast tract of agricultural land in the village, destroying dozens of fruitful olive trees in the southern area of Madama.

Since the genocidal war on Gaza started last October, Israeli extremist settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank.

At least 578 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) since October alone. 5,400 others have been wounded.
