While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

UN report says Palestinians detained by the Israeli occupation regime since Oct. 7 faced torture and mistreatment

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said that Palestinians detained by the Israeli occupation regime since October 7 faced waterboarding, sleep deprivation, electric shocks, the release of dogs, and other forms of torture and mistreatment.

The report said Israel’s prison service held more than 9,400 “security detainees” as of the end of June, and some have been held in secret without access to lawyers or respect for their legal rights.

A summary of the report, based on interviews with former detainees and other sources, decried a “staggering” number of detainees — including men, women, children, journalists and human rights defenders — and said such practices raise concerns about arbitrary detention.

“The testimonies gathered by my office and other entities indicate a range of appalling acts, such as waterboarding and the release of dogs on detainees, amongst other acts, in flagrant violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law,” said U.N. Human Rights Chief Volker Türk in a statement.

“Detainees said they were held in cage-like facilities, stripped naked for prolonged periods, wearing only diapers. Their testimonies told of prolonged blindfolding, deprivation of food, sleep and water, and being subjected to electric shocks and being burnt with cigarettes,” a summary of the report said.

“Some detainees said dogs were released on them, and others said they were subjected to waterboarding, or that their hands were tied and they were suspended from the ceiling,” it added. “Some women and men also spoke of sexual and gender-based violence.”

Türk stressed that international humanitarian law protects all detainees and requires that they be treated humanely and protected from all acts of violence and threats of violence.

“International law requires that all persons deprived of their liberty be treated with humanity and dignity, and strictly prohibits torture or other ill-treatment, including rape and other forms of sexual violence."

Independent rights experts urge States to comply with ICJ ruling on Israel

GENEVA, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 (WAFA) –

UN Member States must immediately comply with the recent “landmark ruling” by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Israel’s presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, a group of 38 UN independent human rights experts said on Tuesday.

The landmark ruling of 19 July 2024 declared that Israel’s occupation of the Gaza strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is unlawful, along with the associated settlement regime, annexation and use of natural resources. The Court added that Israel's legislation and measures violate the international prohibition on racial segregation and apartheid. The ICJ mandated Israel to end its occupation, dismantle its settlements, provide full reparations to Palestinian victims and facilitate the return of displaced people.

“The advisory opinion reaffirms peremptory norms prohibiting annexation, settlements, racial segregation and apartheid, and should be seen as declaratory in nature and binding on Israel and all States supporting the occupation,” the experts said.

They highlighted the fact that the Court refuted the notion that Palestinian self-determination must be achieved solely through bilateral negotiations with Israel – a requirement that has subjected Palestinians to violence, dispossession and rights violations for 30 years.

“The Court has finally reaffirmed a principle that seemed unclear, even to the United Nations: Freedom from foreign military occupation, racial segregation and apartheid is absolutely non-negotiable,” the experts said.

They welcomed the Court’s recognition that converting occupation into annexation by demolishing homes, denying housing permits, and land grabs, violates the jus cogens norm prohibiting the use of force to annex occupied territory.

“May this historic ruling begin the realization of the Palestinian people’s fundamental right to self-determination, and peace premised on freedom for all,” the experts said. The ICJ advisory opinion will serve as a critical tool to restore respect for international law, especially at this crucial moment when the Court is also considering Israel’s alleged violations of the Genocide Convention, they added.

The experts recalled that the opinion was delivered 20 years after the same Court ruled on the illegality of Israel’s wall, an authoritative ruling that was largely disregarded by Israel and UN Member States, allowing impunity to reign.

“Since the Court ruling on 19 July, Israel has intensified attacks on the civilian population in Gaza and their natural resources,” they warned.

“Israel must comply with this advisory opinion, and other ICJ orders issued this year,” they said. “Israel must stop acting as if uniquely above the law.”

“While the UN Security Council and General Assembly will consider strategies to ensure a swift end to the illegal occupation”, the experts said, “States must immediately review all diplomatic, political, and economic ties with Israel, inclusive of business and finance, pension funds, academia and charities.”

They called for an arms embargo, an end to all other commercial that may damage the Palestinians, and targeted sanctions, including asset freezes, on Israeli individuals and entities involved in illegal occupation and racial segregation and apartheid policies.

They further called for investigations and prosecutions against those involved in crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly dual citizens serving in Israel’s military or involved in settler violence.

“The Court’s findings should also be widely disseminated to ensure that the illegality of Israel’s presence in the occupied territory is fully understood at all levels of the government and reflected in public documents and education systems.”

“Laws and policies that penalize opposition to or impede advocacy against Israel’s occupation and apartheid must be rescinded,” the experts said.

Encouraging States to engage with the International Criminal Court, the experts called for a protective presence for Palestinians and demanded access for independent experts and mechanisms to the occupied Palestinian territory.

They also called on the international community to challenge Israel’s deliberate efforts to rewrite the rules of international humanitarian law, using it as “humanitarian camouflage” to legitimize potentially genocidal violence against all Palestinians.

“For too long, Palestinians have been held hostage to realpolitik, while Israel has made a mockery of international order and the normative framework of international law,” the experts said. “May the ICJ advisory opinion be the catalyst for renewed international action to restore and preserve an international order premised on respect for international law.”

GAZA, (PIC)

The health ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation army committed three massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 45 civilians and injuring over 77 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads.

In a statement, the health ministry said that the Israeli army killed and injured a large number of civilians in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, but at least 122 of them, including 45 martyrs, were transported to hospitals.

The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 39,445 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 91,073 people.

The Gaza Strip has been under brutal bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7.

Besides the large number of casualties and the huge displacement of people, basic food, fuel, water and medical supplies have run out for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the tight Israeli blockade and the massive destruction of infrastructure and facilities.

GAZA, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

A number of Palestinian civilians were killed and injured on Wednesday in a series of raids by Israeli warplanes and artillery on different areas of the Gaza Strip, as the brutal Israeli aggression the Gaza Strip enters its 299th day.

Health sources said that a number of people were killed and injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house in Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafa'h city.

WAFA correspondent said that many people were injured and taken to the Red Cross field hospital as a result of gunfire from Israeli army vehicles towards the tents of the displaced in Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafa'h, south of the Gaza Strip.

Health sources also confirmed that a one person was killed and four others were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted 'Abasan Al-Kabeera, east of Khan Younus, south of the Gaza Strip.

The neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Al-Shuja'iya, and Al-Tuffah, east of Gaza City, were subjected to intense artillery shelling, which led to the injury of many civilians, including children and women.

The areas east of Jabalya, north of the Gaza Strip, also saw intense artillery shelling and successive explosions amid gunfire from Israeli occupation army vehicles.

By July 30, 2024, the Israeli occupation forces' aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in the killing of 39,400 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children, while 90,996 others were injured, as thousands of victims remain under rubble and on the roads where ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.

Israeli airstrike on Gaza kills Al Jazeera correspondent, photojournalist

GAZA, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

An Israeli occupation genocidal airstrike on the city of Gaza Wednesday evening killed Al-Jazeera correspondent Isma'eel Al-Ghoul and photojournalist Rami Al-Reeffi.

Al-Ghoul and Al-Reefi were covering news from atop the rubble of the house of the late Hamas leader Isma'eel Haniya in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza, just before their vehicle was targeted by an Israeli airstrike, which decapitated Al-Ghoul’s head.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 39,445 Palestinians and injuring over 91,073 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Casualties in Israeli genocidal air raid targeting group of civilians in central Gaza

GAZA, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) -

Eight civilians were killed today in an Israeli genocidal shelling of the town of Al-Zawayida in the central Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent said that an occupation drone targeted a group of civilians near the electricity company in the Al-Zawayida area, resulting in the killing of eight people.

Since the start of the occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea and air on October 7, 2023, around 39,445 civilians, mostly children and women were killed and 91,073 others were injured.

Thousands of victims are still buried under rubble and scattered on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams face tremendous difficulties in reaching them.

Casualty data in Gaza are incomplete due to the ongoing intensive Israeli aggression, the repeated and complete interruption of communication and internet services, lack of fuel and devastated infrastructure, which render it difficult to document figures.

Illegal Israeli settlers raid large tract of Palestinian lands west of Bethlehem, a prelude for takeover

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, today raided agricultural lands in the city of Bait Jala, west of Bethlehem, in an apparent prelude to take them over .

Alice Qaysiya, daughter of the landowner Ramzi Qaysiya, said  that a group of the illegal Israeli settlers attacked them while they were on their land in the Makhrour area, northwest of Bait Jala, assaulted them, and dismantled an agricultural room with the aim of seizing the land, which occupied an area of  about 5-dunams in area.

The family has documents proving its ownership of the land, and that it won a case from one of the occupation courts confirming its right to the land.

The occupation forces also demolished a restaurant built on the same land years ago.

The colonists further seized large-tract of lands belonging to Palestinian residents of Makhrour area in Bait Jala and established a colonial outpost there.

Palestinian suffers injury in an illegal Israeli settler attack on Nablus-governorate village

NABLUS, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

A Palestinian Wednesday evening sustained an injury in an illegal Israeli settler attack on the Qusra village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

They said that colonists, under military protection, attacked civilians’ houses, southeast of the village, prompting the civilian residents to attempt to fend off the attack and triggering confrontations.

During the course of confrontations, the gun-toting soldiers fired volleys of live ammunition, concussion grenades and tear gas canisters at the residents, injuring a resident with a live round in the pelvis.

The soldiers detained a resident during the raid into the village.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.

Settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 illegal Israeli settlers are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.

Israeli occupation forces blow up Palestinian detainee's house near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces at dawn on Wednesday blew up the house of Palestinian detainee Moreed Ma'hmoud Dahadha in the town of 'Atara, north of Ramallah.

Local sources reported to WAFA that a force of about 30 military vehicles, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the town at the same time as the occupation forces closed the two entrances to the town with military checkpoints, and blew up Dahadha's house, which is a house under construction located on the third floor of a three-story residential building, and blew up parts of the other two floors of his brother and his family.

The same sources added that the occupation forces raided a number of homes, destroyed their contents, and detained the young man Mahmoud Fahim Khatiri, and detained dozens of citizens, including women.

Eyewitnesses said that the occupation forces tried to prevent civilians from leaving their homes in the town by shooting at them, while vehicles trying to approach the checkpoint at the entrance to the town were targeted with live bullets and sound bombs.

 No casualties were reported, however.

Last April, the occupation army confirmed its intention to demolish Dahadaha's house on the grounds that he allegedly participated in a shooting operation that took place in January east of Ramallah, noting that he has been detained since January 8.
