Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip, based on the reliable data reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry:

By June 28, 2024, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 44,794+.

This includes the accounted for deaths (37,794), those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).

By June 28, 2024, the documented injuries exceeded 86,634.

By June 28, 2024, 553 Palestinians who were killed, 5,218 who were injured, and 9,443, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023, including 310 women and 640 children (Some of the detainees have been released).

By May 6, 2024, the Palestinian death toll in Gaza included 7,797+ children and 4,959 women (52% of the total).

Gaza War: UN revises death toll for women and children

By Iain Overton on 17 May 2024

The United Nations has revised down the proportion of women and children among the reported fatalities in Gaza, sparking debate over the accuracy of casualty figures since Israel’s offensive following the Hamas attack on 7 October.

On 6 May, the UN stated that 69% of the reported deaths were women and children. However, just two days later, it revised this figure to 52%. Despite this adjustment, the overall death toll in Gaza remains over 35,000. The UN explained that incomplete information had led to the initial higher percentage and that they are now using figures from the Hamas-run health ministry instead of the Government Media Office (GMO).

The Israeli foreign minister criticized the UN’s change, describing it as “the miraculous resurrection of the dead in Gaza” and accusing the UN of using “fake data from a terrorist organization.”

The figures provided by the GMO and the health ministry differ because of the way deaths have been recorded. Initially, the health ministry only reported deaths registered in hospitals. From November, the GMO included deaths recorded in “reliable media reports” and those reported by family members online. Recently, the health ministry incorporated these media reports and family submissions.

The revised data shows that the number of women and children among the dead has decreased significantly. On 6 May, the UN cited GMO figures reporting 9,500 women and 14,500 children dead. However, two days later, using health ministry data, the figures were revised to 4,959 women and 7,797 children. This difference arises because individuals with incomplete information were not included in the demographic breakdown.

The death toll’s accuracy remains contentious. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that approximately 30,000 people had died in Gaza, with 14,000 being “terrorists” and 16,000 civilians, although no evidence was provided for these numbers.

(Editor's Note: Other than women and children, most of the other victims are elderly men and civilian young men).

Recording accurate casualties during wartime is notoriously challenging.

The initial death toll from the 7 October Hamas attacks was estimated at 1,400 by Israeli authorities but was later revised down to around 1,200 due to the misidentification of some bodies.

The UN’s change in approach is significant. Initially, the GMO consistently reported a higher proportion of women and children among the dead than the health ministry. On 6 May, the UN reported 34,735 deaths based on GMO figures, with women and children making up the majority. Two days later, the UN’s report, citing health ministry data, showed a total of 34,844 deaths but with a significantly lower number of women and children.

The UN said it switched to health ministry data because it provided more comprehensive breakdowns backed by a list of names.

This revision underscores the complexities and challenges of tracking civilian casualties in conflict zones and highlights the ongoing debate over the true impact of the war on Gaza’s population.

By May 25, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

EU warns of ongoing catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza

Friday 28-June-2024

BRUSSELS, (PIC)

The European Union (EU) has warned of the ongoing catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war for nearly nine months.

“The ceasefire approved by the UN Security Council has yet to be implemented,” the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Thursday before an EU Council meeting in Brussels.

He stressed that “Humanitarian aid must be allowed to enter Gaza.”

“What we see now is a continuation of starvation and bombing”, the EU official said, adding, “stopping military action, providing more humanitarian support to Gaza, and considering political solution are the most pressing issues.”

The Israeli occupation army has been waging for 265 days, a genocide war on the Gaza Strip, with US and European support, leading to the martyrdom of 37,765 people, and the injury of 86,429 others, as well as the displacement of about 1.7 million residents of the Strip, according to UN data.

UNRWA: Severe shortages of medicines and fuel in Gaza hindering life-saving operations

Friday 28-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned about the critical health care needs of Palestinians in war-ravaged Gaza, emphasizing that only a few of its health centers remain operational in the region.

In a statement posted on its X account on Thursday, UNRWA highlighted severe shortages of medicines and fuel hindering life-saving operations in Gaza. It stressed that safe and sustainable access to aid cannot be delayed any longer.

Simultaneously, the UN agency stated that ongoing insecurity and Israeli military attacks in southern Gaza continue to pose significant obstacles to humanitarian efforts.

Last week, several Israeli airstrikes targeted the surroundings of Al-Mawasi area, displacing numerous refugees, it noted.

UNRWA cautioned that power cuts due to fuel shortages still jeopardize the lives of critically ill patients, including newborns, kidney dialysis patients, and those in intensive care units in hospitals.

According to the agency, partners involved in response efforts report that groundwater pumping, the main water source in Gaza, has decreased by over 50%, from 35,000 cubic meters per day to just 15,000 cubic meters per day.

UNRWA: Over 625,000 Gaza children out of school for over eight months

GAZA, Friday, June 28, 2024 (WAFA) –

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) today said that over 625,000 children in Gaza have been out of school for more than eight months due to Israel's ongoing genocidal war on the enclave.

It adds that 300,000 of them were UNRWA students prior to the genocidal war.

“Play and learning activities provided by UNRWA teams are critical in preparing children to get back to school and restore their right to education," the agency said on X.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in a complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), that ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 37,765 Palestinians and injuring over 86,429 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

UN rapporteur: No other term but "genocide" can be used to describe the situation in Gaza

GENEVA, Friday, June 28, 2024 (WAFA) –

The UN special rapporteur on the right to health, Tlaleng Mofokeng, said: “As people in Gaza are literally being destroyed, no other term but "genocide" can be used to express this situation,” according to Anadolu Ajansı.

In an interview with Anadolu, Mofokeng emphasized the catastrophic humanitarian crisis, noting that Gaza's residents are deprived of essential services and basic needs. "We know that people are trying to survive, but that’s really all they can do," she said, adding there is no food, safe drinking water, and safe housing.

She also highlighted that the mental health of Gazans has deteriorated severely due to the relentless bombings, leading to widespread trauma, said Anadolu.

The rapporteur called for an immediate cease-fire, stressing that everyone must ensure that hostilities cease to allow life in Gaza to return to normal.

She pointed out the increasing death toll and the horrific conditions for those still trapped under rubble or living with disabilities due to the ongoing war. "When you look literally how small the Gaza strip is and the kind of destruction that’s happening, it’s really impossible to understand how this is still going on."

Mofokeng cited reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) and other aid organizations, which depict a dire scenario for health services in Gaza. "When they (hospitals) cannot get supplies and essential medicines, and when healthcare workers themselves are being killed and harassed, it makes the attacks on the right to health even more prominent."

She also stressed that there is still no estimate for how long it will take to rebuild Gaza's health infrastructure, as thousands remain buried under rubble.

Mofokeng condemned the support Israel receives from European countries and the US, which she argued allows for "genocide."

"How many more children must die," she asked, noting people in Gaza are living a "daily nightmare."

She asserted that the situation in Gaza reflects an apartheid regime and occupation that meets the definition of "genocide."

Mofokeng called for a global discussion on recognizing the events in Gaza as "genocide" and for holding the perpetrators accountable in international courts. "I’m not in charge of prosecuting anybody," she said. “But when you have a group of people who have literally been exterminated, what else is there to declare it a genocide."

Mofokeng concluded by declaring that violence against healthcare workers and the denial of health rights are entirely unacceptable, urging immediate international action to address the crisis in Gaza, Anadolu reported.

Friday 28-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 266 on Friday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes and attack citizens in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) continued their ground invasion throughout Rafah, amid aerial and artillery bombardment and widespread famine.

A martyr was transported to the European Hospital in Khan Younus after an Israeli drone targeted a group of citizens near the Al-Shoaka municipality, east of Rafa'h, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime legalizes 5 illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, sanctions PA

Friday 28-June-2024

Al-Naasra (Nazareth) (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced in a late hour on Thursday night that the Israeli mini-cabinet has approved several steps to entrench settlements in the West Bank.

Smotrich claimed that these steps come in response to the recognition of the Palestinian state by a number of countries, and they include imposing sanctions on Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership and strengthening the settlements in the West Bank.

The extremist minister also claimed that the decisions come in the wake of the PA demands at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, and its support for issuing arrest warrants against Israeli leaders and pressure for unilateral recognition of the Palestinian state.

The punitive measures include canceling permits and various privileges for PA officials, restricting their movement and preventing them from traveling and deporting them abroad, in addition to withdrawing the PA civil powers in Area (B) of the West Bank.

Alongside these measures, the occupation government approved the legalization of 5 settlements in the West Bank, in Nablus, Ramallah, and al-Khalil.

It also decided to publish tenders for the construction of thousands of settlement units in the West Bank and facilitate the demolition of Palestinian homes in Area (B).
