Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip, based on the reliable data reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry:

By June 29, 2024, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 44,834+.

This includes the accounted for deaths (37,834), those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).

By June 29 2024, the documented injuries exceeded 86,858.

By June 29, 2024, 553 Palestinians who were killed, 5,218 who were injured, and 9,443, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023, including 310 women and 640 children (Some of the detainees have been released).

By May 6, 2024, the Palestinian death toll in Gaza included 7,797+ children and 4,959 women (52% of the total).

Gaza War: UN revises death toll for women and children

By Iain Overton on 17 May 2024

The United Nations has revised down the proportion of women and children among the reported fatalities in Gaza, sparking debate over the accuracy of casualty figures since Israel’s offensive following the Hamas attack on 7 October.

On 6 May, the UN stated that 69% of the reported deaths were women and children. However, just two days later, it revised this figure to 52%. Despite this adjustment, the overall death toll in Gaza remains over 35,000. The UN explained that incomplete information had led to the initial higher percentage and that they are now using figures from the Hamas-run health ministry instead of the Government Media Office (GMO).

The Israeli foreign minister criticized the UN’s change, describing it as “the miraculous resurrection of the dead in Gaza” and accusing the UN of using “fake data from a terrorist organization.”

The figures provided by the GMO and the health ministry differ because of the way deaths have been recorded. Initially, the health ministry only reported deaths registered in hospitals. From November, the GMO included deaths recorded in “reliable media reports” and those reported by family members online. Recently, the health ministry incorporated these media reports and family submissions.

The revised data shows that the number of women and children among the dead has decreased significantly. On 6 May, the UN cited GMO figures reporting 9,500 women and 14,500 children dead. However, two days later, using health ministry data, the figures were revised to 4,959 women and 7,797 children. This difference arises because individuals with incomplete information were not included in the demographic breakdown.

The death toll’s accuracy remains contentious. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that approximately 30,000 people had died in Gaza, with 14,000 being “terrorists” and 16,000 civilians, although no evidence was provided for these numbers.

(Editor's Note: Other than women and children, most of the other victims are elderly men and civilian young men).

Recording accurate casualties during wartime is notoriously challenging.

The initial death toll from the 7 October Hamas attacks was estimated at 1,400 by Israeli authorities but was later revised down to around 1,200 due to the misidentification of some bodies.

The UN’s change in approach is significant. Initially, the GMO consistently reported a higher proportion of women and children among the dead than the health ministry. On 6 May, the UN reported 34,735 deaths based on GMO figures, with women and children making up the majority. Two days later, the UN’s report, citing health ministry data, showed a total of 34,844 deaths but with a significantly lower number of women and children.

The UN said it switched to health ministry data because it provided more comprehensive breakdowns backed by a list of names.

This revision underscores the complexities and challenges of tracking civilian casualties in conflict zones and highlights the ongoing debate over the true impact of the war on Gaza’s population.

The Palestinian Government Media Office death toll data (which includes media reports and family member reporting online):

By May 21, 2024, the Palestinian death toll in Gaza included 15,000+ children (43%).

By March 4, 2024, the death toll also included 13,420+ children, 8,900+ women (more than 72.8% of the accounted for victims), 364 doctors and medical staff, 132 journalists, and 48 civil defense workers.

By May 25, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them.

By January 17, 2024, about 661 detainees from Gaza are currently languishing in Israeli prisons as illegitimate combatants(the Israeli term for Palestinian fighters) in addition to more than 50 women from Gaza, who are detained in the Damon prison, noting that 8 women of whom have been recently released.

By March 4, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them (May 25, 2024), destroyed 155 health institutions, 32 hospitals, 53 health centers, 126 ambulances, displaced 1.9 million Palestinians, and destroyed 360,000 housing units, about and 60% of the buildings and infrastructure in Gaza Strip.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

'Hamas accuses US of being accomplice in starvation campaign against Gaza

Saturday 29-June-2024

BEIRUT, (PIC)

The humanitarian situation in the Gaza has become tragic, senior 'Hamas official Osama 'Hamdan emphasized on Saturday, warning of imminent casualties due to food shortages, which are pushing the Strip toward famine.

During a news conference on the developments of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, 'Hamdan said UN estimates indicate that 70 percent of Gaza’s population is at risk of famine, adding that Israel’s policy of siege, through the blocking of border crossings, has exacerbated the food crisis in Gaza.

'Hamdan accused that Israeli occupation forces of systematically destroying vital infrastructure, including roads, water networks, and sewage systems, and denying the Gaza people access to drinking water.

'Hamdan pointed out that the Israeli government ignores notifications from humanitarian organizations, which makes relief work extremely dangerous, emphasizing that the Israeli occupation’s practices resemble “an advanced form of the Nazi detention and extermination camps, and even worse.”

'Hamdan considered Israel’s starvation campaign in Gaza as one of the brutal methods of warfare targeting innocent civilians, making it tantamount to genocide, adding that Israel’s policies of cutting off electricity and water also constitute acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The 'Hamas official described the failure of world leaders to prevent the starvation of the Gaza people as “shameful,” adding that the world has seen footage of Palestinian detainees suffering from considerable weight loss due to the starvation policy pursued against them in Israeli jails at the behest of far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

He also accused the US administration of participating in the ongoing starvation campaign against the Gaza people through its persistence in supporting and covering up Israel’s war crimes and genocide in the Palestinian coastal enclave.

'Hamdan also answered a question about the mediators’ efforts to broker a ceasefire deal over Gaza, saying there was no progress in this regard.

'Hamas is still ready to “deal positively” with any ceasefire proposal that ends the war and secures a complete military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and a serious swap deal, 'Hamdan told journalists in Beirut.

WHO: More than 10,000 Palestinians need medical evacuation

Saturday 29-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The UN World Health Organization (WHO) welcomed Thursday’s evacuation of 21 young patients from Gaza – the first since the key border crossing at Rafah closed on 7 May.

“Since the closure of Rafa'h, we did not have any medical evacuation until yesterday and these 21 children with cancer,” said WHO spokesperson Tarik (Tariq) Jasarevic.

But more than 10,000 patients still need medical evacuations, he added.

Specialized, lifesaving care is no longer available in Gaza, Jasarevic continued, in an appeal to evacuate the “more than 10,000 people” – including thousands of amputees – waiting to receive the medical care they need.

“We need to reopen Rafah and any other border crossing to get these people out. So, their lives, can be saved.”

For his part, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus appealed for facilitated medical evacuation via all possible routes, including Rafa'h and Karm Abu Salim, to Egypt, the West Bank, Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), and from there to other countries when needed.

“We appeal for sustained medical evacuations and a safe, timely, transparent and organized process. These patients urgently need specialized lifesaving care, which they cannot get in Gaza.”

OCHA: At least 60,000 people displaced from Gaza City

Friday 28-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Humanitarian partners are reporting new displacement from areas east of Gaza City, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) revealed on Friday.

Yesterday, the Israeli military ordered people living in 28 residential blocks in areas east of Gaza City to immediately evacuate. Humanitarian partners estimate at least 60,000 people were displaced from this area, which spans over seven square kilometers, the UN agency said.

Also yesterday, a military operation in the area of Al-Mawasi resulted in scores of casualties arriving to a nearby field hospital and the displacement of at least 5,000 people, according to our partners on the ground.

Meanwhile, access constraints – coupled with insecurity and ongoing hostilities – continue to significantly impede the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance and services across Gaza.

This includes critical food and nutrition aid, medical care, shelter support, and water, sanitation, and hygiene services for hundreds of thousands of people in need.

OCHA reported that as of yesterday, Israeli authorities had facilitated less than half of more than 100 planned humanitarian assistance missions, coordinated to reach northern Gaza this month. The rest were either impeded, denied access, or canceled due to logistical, operational, or security reasons.

UN rapporteur: People in Gaza are literally being destroyed

Saturday 29-June-2024

GENEVA, (PIC)

The UN special rapporteur on the right to health, Tlaleng Mofokeng, said, “As people in Gaza are literally being destroyed, no other term but genocide can be used to express this situation.”

Speaking to Anadolu agency, Mofokeng said on Friday, “People in Gaza are trying to survive, but that’s really all they can do,” noting that “the mental health of Gazans has deteriorated severely due to the relentless bombings, leading to widespread trauma.”

She cited reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) and other aid organizations, which depict a dire scenario for health services in Gaza, saying, “when hospitals cannot get supplies and essential medicines, and when healthcare workers themselves are being killed and harassed, it makes the attacks on the right to health even more prominent.”

The UN rapporteur drew attention to the fact that there is still no estimate for how long it will take to rebuild Gaza’s health infrastructure.

Mofokeng called for a global discussion on recognizing the events in Gaza as “genocide” and for holding the perpetrators accountable in international courts.

Israel has been waging a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip for 266 days leading to the martyrdom of 37,718 people so far and the injury of 86,377 others.

PFLP: Israel’s post-war plans are illusions and fantasies

Saturday 29-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has said that Israeli war minister Yoav Gallant’s discussion of “day after” plans for the Gaza Strip with US officials are just illusions and fantasies that reflect the Israeli occupation’s bankruptcy and its failure to face reality.

In a statement on Saturday, PFLP said that presenting such unrealistic plans proved that the Israeli occupation is unable to provide a clear answer about ‘the next day after the war.”

PFLP stressed that the Israeli occupation is not in a position enabling it to carry out such plans, especially since its army is unable to win the battle on the ground.

“These plans will be doomed to failure, and the resistance will not leave Gaza and will remain strong and with a great influence,” PFLP said.

Israeli war minister Yoav Gallant said last Thursday that he discussed “day after” plans for post-war Gaza with senior US officials, which would include local Palestinians, regional partners and the US.

Spain to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel

Friday 28-June-2024

THE HAGUE, (PIC)

Spain has requested on Friday evening to join the case filed by South Africa at the International Court of Justice, which accuses Israel of violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention in its war on the  Gaza Strip.

Spain’s announcement came shortly after Turkey announced it would also join the world’s court.

South Africa brought its case against Israel in late December, accusing it of committing genocide against Palestinians in the besieged territory.

UNRWA: 625,000 Palestinian children deprived of education in Gaza

Friday 28-June-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Friday that more than 625,000 Palestinian children were deprived of schooling for more than eight months due to the Israeli war on Gaza.

It said in a post on X, “More than 625,000 children in Gaza have been out of school for over 8 months – 300,000 of them were UNRWA students before the war.”

“UNRWA teams are critical in preparing children to get back to school and restore their right to education,” UNRWA added.

The international agency had said at the start of the current month of June that children in Gaza “are going through an endless nightmare.”

Most of the 124,000 casualties of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip ongoing since 7 October 2023 are women and children.

UNRWA: Gaza population living in “unbearable” and “extremely dire” conditions

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Saturday, June 29, 2024 (WAFA) –

The United Nations agency responsible for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has decried the living conditions endured by residents of the Gaza Strip as “unbearable” and “extremely dire”.

Speaking during a press briefing from central Gaza via video-link to Geneva, Louise Wateridge, a spokesperson for UNRWA, lamented: “It’s really unbearable. Today, it has to be the worst it’s ever been. I don’t doubt that tomorrow again will be the worst it’s ever been”.

Expressing shock at the devastation in Khan Younus, Wateridge, who spent four weeks outside Gaza before her return, said: “The buildings are skeletons, if at all. Everything is rubble.” Despite the severe damage, people have returned to these structures, living amidst collapsed walls and makeshift coverings to shield themselves from the elements.

“Gazans are forced to live in bombed-out buildings or camp next to giant piles of trash,” she added.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafah, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 37,834 Palestinians and injuring over 86,858 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Israeli attacks leave 10,000 disabled in Gaza, NGO reports

GAZA, Saturday, June 29, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian NGO's Network Rehabilitation Sector has warned about the dire consequences of the ongoing and escalating the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza. The group said an estimated 10,000 individuals have acquired various disabilities due to the attacks.

According to a statement released today, hundreds of persons with disabilities have been killed, and thousands more injured as a result of the Israeli onslaught. The crisis has forced tens of thousands of disabled individuals to flee, exposing them to harsh displacement conditions and severe psychological trauma, the group revealed.

The statement emphasized that Israeli actions, including the destruction of infrastructure, main roads, and rehabilitation centers, have severely restricted the movement and access to services for persons with disabilities. This has significantly diminished their ability to mobilize, evacuate safely, and has resulted in the loss of crucial assistive devices, abandoned in the face of bombardment.

Furthermore, the lives of persons with disabilities are endangered due to acute shortages of water, food, energy, medications, and medical and rehabilitation services. Displaced individuals with disabilities face immense difficulties in overcrowded and ill-equipped shelters lacking basic amenities, exacerbating their struggle to access humanitarian aid, sanitation facilities, and other essential needs.

The group underscored that the failure to accommodate disabled-friendly shelters, coupled with overcrowding, poses an additional challenge in accessing already scarce services. Persons with disabilities are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition and chronic illnesses, significantly increasing their risk of mortality.

Israeli forces storm cluster of villages northwest of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Saturday, June 29, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening stormed a cluster of villages and towns, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to security sources.

They said that the occupation troops barged their way into the villages of Dair Al-Sudan, Umm Safa and Dair Abu Mish'al in addition to the town of 'Ajjoul. There were no confrontations or detention, however.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces a Palestinian to demolish his own home in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Saturday, June 29, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation authorities compelled a Palestinian citizen today to demolish his own home in the neighborhood of Al-Tour, located in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

'Abdullah Abu Subaitan, a resident of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), stated that the all-Israeli municipality in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) forced him to demolish his 85-square-meter house, which housed his family of five.

Abu Subaitan added that he was forced to carry out the demolition himself after an Israeli court issued an order to demolish it within two days, aiming to avoid the hefty costs imposed if Israeli crews carried out the demolition.

As a matter of fact, the Israeli occupation apartheid regime routinely coerces Palestinian citizens, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, into self-demolishing their homes citing lack of permits. Those who refuse face the prospect of Israeli bulldozers demolishing their homes and imposing exorbitant fines on the owners.

The Israeli municipality in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) consistently denies building permits to Palestinian citizens, opting instead to demolish their homes or compel them to do so, actions that contradict international law.

These practices are part of Israel's policies aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) to expand settlements in the city and its surroundings.

During the past month of May, Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Governorate documented a total of 30 demolition and confiscation operations, including nine cases of forced self-demolition and 20 demolitions carried out by Israeli authorities.

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Saturday, June 29, 2024 (WAFA) -

Early this morning, Israeli occupation forces closed the Bait Iksa military checkpoint, located northwest of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), severely impacting the movement of Palestinian citizens in the area.

Witnesses reported that the closure prevented high school students from leaving the village to take their final exams, resulting in the confinement of the students in addition to hundreds attempting to enter or exit the village.

Bait Iksa, located northwest of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), has been surrounded by Israel's separation wall, effectively isolating it from the rest of the West Bank.

The Israeli occupation authorities have also appropriated much of its land and established the illegal Israeli settlement of Ramot there.
