While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

Norway, Ireland and Spain say they are recognizing a Palestinian state

Wednesday 22-May-2024

OSLO, (PIC)

Norway, Ireland and Spain said Wednesday they are recognizing a Palestinian state in a historic move that drew jubilation from the Palestinians and condemnation from Israel, which immediately recalled its ambassadors to those countries.

The official recognition by the three European nations of an independent Palestinian state will take effect on May 28, Norwegian foreign minister Espen Eide told a news conference today.

For his part, Norway’s prime minister Jonas Store said that a two-state solution would be in Israel’s best interest, stressing that “there cannot be peace in the Middle East if there is no recognition.”

“In the midst of a war, with tens of thousands killed and injured [in Gaza], we must keep alive the only alternative that offers a political solution for Israelis and Palestinians alike. Two states, living side by side, in peace and security,” Store said.

“This could ultimately make it possible to resume the process towards achieving a two-state solution and give it renewed momentum,” he added.

Shortly after Norway’s announcement, Ireland’s prime minister Simon Harris said his country would also recognize a Palestinian state.

“Today, Ireland, Norway, and Spain are announcing that we recognize the State of Palestine,” Harris told a news conference. “Each of us will now undertake whatever national steps are necessary to give effect to that decision.”

“I am confident that further countries will join us in taking this important step in the coming weeks,” he added.

Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sanchez also said that the country’s council of ministers would recognise an independent Palestinian state on May 28.

Addressing the Spanish parliament, Sanchez accused his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu of putting the two-state solution in “danger” with his policy of “pain and destruction” in Gaza.

Al Jazeera’s English senior correspondent Imran Khan, reporting from Amman in Jordan after the Israeli government recently banned the Qatari news network, said that Malta and Slovenia were also expected to make similar announcements. “This is a momentous occasion for the Palestinians,” he said.

Following the announcement by these European nations, the Hamas Movement has welcomed the move and described it as an “important step on the path to supporting the Palestinian people’s right to their land and their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

“We call on other countries of the world to recognize our legitimate national rights, support our people’s struggle for liberation and independence, and end the Zionist occupation of our land,” Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime parliament (so-called Knesset) passes preliminary reading of bill that annexes part of West Bank territory to Israel

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime parliament (so-called Knesset) today passed the preliminary reading of a bill that annexes part of the occupied Palestinian West Bank territory to Israel.

The bill which provides for the annexation of parts of the West Bank territory to Israel and defining the Southern Hills of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) as part of the Naqab region.

The bill, proposed by the Knesset member Limor Son-Har Melech, a member of Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir-led Jewish National Front party, passed a preliminary reading in the Knesset plenum, with 52 members of the Knesset supporting the bill, 37 opposing it and none abstaining.

The bill is based on the 1991 “Negev Law which illegally defines the Naqab (Negev) as everything south of the 115th parallel on the old Israeli grid system,” and paves the way for the annexation of 15 of the illegal Israeli settlements, built illegally on Palestinian lands, including Kiryat Arba', and an unidentified number of the illegal outposts to Israel.

Israeli media reported that Opposition leader Yair Lapid attacked the bill: "Kiryat Arba' is not in the Negev. For years they've been robbing the periphery and today, they're turning into law. The Negev is the Negev, Judea and Samaria ]i.e. occupied West Bank[ is Judea and Samaria, and the Galilee is the Galilee. Don't make up geography that doesn't exist . . .You are stealing funds from Netivot, Ofakim, and Kiryat Shmona. For 50 years the settlements have been stealing funds from the periphery and the Likud is silent."

'Hamas slams Gallant’s repealing of Disengagement Law

Wednesday 22-May-2024

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

'Hamas said the Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant’s decision to repeal parts of the 2005 Disengagement Law, allowing Israelis to return to three illegal West Bank settlements evacuated 19 years ago, represents a continuation of the Israeli aggressive policy of settlement that denies the right of the Palestinian people to their land.

The cancellation of the Disengagement Law with the northern West Bank, announced by Gallant on Wednesday, allows the construction of illegal settlements previously evacuated.

In a statement on Wednesday, 'Hamas called on the Palestinians in the West Bank to confront the Israeli settlement policies, demanding the international community and the United Nations to assume their responsibilities in putting an end to settlement and holding Israeli occupation authority (IOA) accountable for its crimes and continuous violations of the international law.

Gallant’s move came as an enforcement of the Israeli Knesset decision issued on March 21 to revoke the Disengagement Law which stipulated the evacuation of 4 settlements in the northern West Bank, in conjunction with Israeli army’s withdrawing and evacuating its settlements from the Gaza Strip in 2005.

Gallant’s office explained in a statement that Gallant “issued instructions to enforce the law in the settlements of Sanour, Ghaneim and Kadim after the issuance of a preliminary order about the Homesh settlement.”

During the time of former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon which witnessed successive military failures, the Israeli occupation forces withdrew from the settlements of the Gaza Strip in 2005, as a part of a plan known at the time as “disengagement”.

In a related context, the President of the Israeli Settlement Council in the northern West Bank, Yossi Dagan, described the decision as a “historic moment of correction.”

Detainee Wafa Jarrar injured after her detention in Jineen

Wednesday 22-May-2024

Jineen, (PIC)

Family sources revealed that the Palestinian woman Wafa Jarrar, 50, who was arrested on Tuesday, was injured after an explosive device blew up in an Israeli occupation military vehicle, several hours after her detention. She was transferred to the Israeli Rambam Hospital in 'Haifa.

On Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) detained the political activist Wafaa Jarrar, from Al-Mara'h neighborhood in Jineen, after storming her house, sabotaging its contents, and beating her and her family members.

The family explained that until now, the health condition of prisoner Jarrar has not been confirmed and called for pushing for her immediate release and for exerting efforts urgently to allow a visit to her.

The IOFs has recently been using Palestinian citizens as human shields during their incursions into the West Bank, in violation of the provisions of the international humanitarian law.

For more than 24 hours, the Palestinian resistance has been continuing its confrontation of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the city of Jenin, engaging in fierce clashes with the IOFs soldiers with the use of home-made explosive devices.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced on Tuesday night that its crews had managed to reach a martyr from Al-Hadaf neighborhood in Jenin, bringing the number of martyrs of the ongoing Israeli occupation against the city and its camp since Tuesday morning to eight in addition to at least 21 injuries, including critical cases.

The IOF intentionally destroyed infrastructure, including streets, vegetable stands, commercial barracks, and citizens’ property, especially vehicles, as IOF snipers were deliberately shooting Palestinians, ambulance cars, and pressmen.

On Tuesday morning, the IOF, accompanied by special forces, stormed the city of Jenin and its camp, leading to the outbreak of confrontations that were concentrated in the vicinity of Jenin camp and Wadi Burqeen.

'Hamas: Ben Gvir’s desecration of Aqsa “aggressive act”

Wednesday 22-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has condemned the desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by far-right Israeli security minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Wednesday morning, describing it as an “aggressive act that adds fuel to the fire.’

'Hamas said that the Aqsa Mosque’s exposure to violations by Ben Gvir and other settlers would not confer any legitimacy upon the Israeli occupation state at the Palestinian holy sites.

Hamas urged the Palestinian masses in Jerusalem, the West Bank and 1948 occupied Palestine to stand in the face of the systematic Judaization campaign against Al-Aqsa Mosque and intensify their presence in its buildings and courtyards.

The Movement also called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take serious action to protect the Aqsa Mosque and all the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied territories against the Zionist dangers threatening them.

Flanked by heavily armed Israeli forces, Ben-Gvir and other settlers forced their way into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday morning.

During his tour of the Mosque’s courtyards, the far-right minister said that the Islamic holy site, which he called temple, “belongs solely to the state of Israel.”

The Gaza Municipality calls on the world to intervene to save human life in the Gaza Strip

Wednesday 22-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Gaza Municipality called on international organizations on Wednesday evening to intervene urgently and save human life in the city of Gaza, and assist in providing the necessary fuel to operate the waste collection mechanisms and enable the municipality crews to reach the main landfill east of the city and mitigate the health and environmental disaster.

The municipality said in a statement that the lack of necessary fuel to collect and transport waste exacerbates the health and environmental disaster, explaining that providing this service requires about 2,000 liters of fuel per day to collect and transport waste from various parts of the city.

It pointed out that the current quantities of fuel received by the municipality are insufficient, as they are only used to operate a limited number of water wells, stressing that it needs larger quantities of fuel to be able to provide the rest of the basic services to citizens.

About 100,000 tons of waste are accumulating in the streets of Gaza City due to the depletion of the fuel needed to provide the waste collection and transportation service in addition to the Israeli occupation army’s destruction of about 125 of its vehicles, including heavy vehicles for waste collection.

PGMO: Northern Gaza is suffering from famine and Israel’s facilities are deceptive

Wednesday 22-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in the Gaza Strip warned of Israeli attempts to circumvent the demands of international organizations to facilitate aid delivery into the Strip and to prevent famine.

The PGMO confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the northern Gaza Strip “is still suffering from famine as a result of the Israeli use of starvation as a method of warfare by closing crossings, cutting off food supplies, and bombing and destroying all elements of survival and livelihoods.”

“As the starvation has recently been escalating, many international organizations and bodies sounded the alarm weeks ago that the residents of Gaza and North Gaza governorates are exposed to a real famine, after which, international demands and US statements began to follow calling for bringing in aid and saving northern Gaza from certain famine,” the statement added.

“The Israeli occupation forces circumvented those international demands by alleviating the famine temporally and allowing some facilities by bringing in some aid shipments, most of which were loaded with flour only. In addition, a limited number of bakeries were opened under the supervision of the World Food Program,” the statement added.

The PGMO said, “Based on these fake facilities, international demands and warnings disappeared, as if the causes of famine had ended or no longer existed, even though Israel has been preventing the entry of basic commodities for a month, including sugar, oil, milk, wheat, fruits, meat, eggs, among others.”

Israel has also been rationing the entry of vegetables to the extent that the majority of the citizens cannot afford their prices, amid the ongoing blocking of gas and fuel entry since the beginning of the aggression.

WHO & Gaza health ministry call for immediate delivery of humanitarian, medical aid

Wednesday 22-May-2024

GENEVA, (PIC)

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on Israel to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid, food, and medical supplies to Gaza, and to allow the urgent evacuation of about 700 seriously ill and injured patients for treatment outside the Strip.

The Director-General of the organization, Tedros Adhanom, on Tuesday called on Israel to deliver the necessary fuel for the operation of health facilities, hospitals, and ambulances.

Adhanom explained that the health sector alone in Gaza needs between 50,000 to 60,000 liters of fuel per day, while the organization has succeeded in delivering small quantities of fuel to hospitals in the past few days, but it is not enough at all.

He stressed that “the situation in Gaza has become more than disastrous,” noting the decrease in the number of functioning hospitals and primary health care centers, and that what remains of them has been damaged, as well as a decrease in vaccination campaigns against diseases, while the Al-'Awda Hospital remains under siege.

The UN official stressed that the hostile acts near the Kamal 'Udwan Hospital have undermined its ability to provide medical services and made it difficult to access.

Adhanom added that “military operations in Rafa'h are ongoing, as well as the increasing deaths and injuries, and the people have only two choices, either to stay in the areas that are being attacked, or to leave for other places that are not safe either.”

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health called on the international community, international human rights institutions, and all health organizations on Tuesday evening to increase pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their deliberate aggression against the health sector in all its components.

The ministry said in a statement, “The violent and deliberate aggression of the occupation against the Kamal 'Udwan Hospital north of Gaza forced the medical staff and patients to evacuate it under bombardment.”

The ministry added in its statement that the occupation forces targeted the hospital, which had 150 medical personnel of various specializations, dozens of patients and the injured in intensive care and surgery, and a number of children from incubators.

It mentioned that the teams worked to transfer the patients and the wounded under extremely difficult conditions to other treatment centers, which posed a great danger to their health condition, in addition to the constant shelling around the hospital and the roads leading to it.

The ministry confirmed that the Israeli aggression on the Kamal 'Udwan Hospital and the Al-'Awda Hospital is added to a long series of the deliberate daily Israeli criminality against the health system in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Coinciding with this disastrous health situation, the United Nations announced the suspension of the distribution of food supplies in the Rafa'h area in the south of the Gaza Strip, due to the shortage of supplies and the lack of security.

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are now residing in Rafa'h, most of them displaced, and they are exposed to the bombardment and raids carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, while they face the health disaster, starvation, and the siege.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 500 medical personnel have been martyred in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the latest of whom is the martyr doctor Osaid Jabbareen, who was killed by the occupation forces in Jenin while on his way to work at the Jineen government hospital.

US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters day 229

Wednesday 22-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 229 on Wednesday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians, especially in northern Gaza.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, amid ongoing attacks in Rafa'h and Jabalya.

According to media sources, two civilians were martyred and others were injured in an Israeli attack on a road in al-Sabra neighborhood in the south of Gaza City, while the body of one civilian was found and evacuated from Al-Zahra City in central Gaza.

The Israeli occupation army also carried out airstrikes on homes belonging to the families of Abu Zayda, Darabiyah and Mousa in northern Gaza, killing at least 20 citizens and injuring others.

10 other citizens were martyred and others were wounded when the Israeli army bombed a structure sheltering displaced families in Al-Zawayida area in central Gaza.

Another attack on a house in Beer Al-Naja area in central Gaza claimed the lives of six civilians and injured others.

Other casualties were reported in other areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today.

Israeli drone strike on Gaza city kills seven Palestinians, injures others

GAZA, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (WAFA) –

At least seven Palestinians, including children, were killed, and others were injured in an Israeli drone strike on Gaza City.

Israeli drones launched a missile strike on a group of people who were gathering in front of a gas station in the Gaza city neighborhood of Al-Zaytoun, killing at least seven, including children, and injuring 20 others.

Meanwhile, the occupation warplanes launched airstrikes, targeting central and southern Rafa'h in the southern war-torn Strip, while the occupation naval boats targeted fishermen’s boats on the shore of Rafa'h, destroying them.

This came as Israeli artillery shelled several areas in Jabalya Al-Balad in the northern Strip.

Tried before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 35,709 Palestinians and injuring over 79,990 others.

Moreover, at least 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
