While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

4 Palestinian female journalists held in Israeli occupation regime prisons

Saturday 4-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

At least four Palestinian female journalists are still held in Israeli jails, a Palestinian prisoners’ group said on Friday.

“Four female journalists are in detention (in the Israeli occupation regime prisons), including a nursing mother,” the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said in a statement marking World Press Freedom Day.

The statement identified the female detainees as Ikhlas Sawal'ha, Rola 'Hasanain, Bushra Al-Taweel and Asmaa 'Hirish, noting that three of them – Sawal'ha, Al-Taweel and 'Hirish – are held under administrative detention and without a trial or charge.

The Palestinian rights group also said that a fifth journalist, Somaya Jawabra, is under house arrest after her release from Israeli prison last November.

The PPS also pointed out that four journalists from Gaza are still forcibly disappeared, namely: Nidhal Al-Wuhaidi and Haitham Abdul Wa'hid, who were detained by the Israeli occupation forces, in the first days of the Israeli aggression, in addition to the journalists Ma'hmoud Ziyad Aliwa and Mu'hammed Sabir 'Arab, who were detained from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime is still refusing to disclose their fate or detention conditions.

At least 141 journalists and media professionals were killed and more than 70 others were injured during the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

UN chief “shocked” by high number of journalists killed in Gaza

Saturday 4-May-2024

NEW YORK, (PIC)

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the pivotal role of journalists and media workers on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.

“Around the world, media workers are risking their lives trying to bring us news on everything from war to democracy,” said Guterres in a statement.

“I am shocked and appalled by the high number of journalists killed in Israeli military operations in  Gaza,” he added.

The UN chief said “journalists and media workers have a key role in informing and educating” the public, adding that media outlets have vital roles in highlighting stories related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental injustice.

“The United Nations recognizes the invaluable work of journalists and media professionals to ensure that the public is informed and engaged,” he said.

“Without facts, we cannot fight mis- and disinformation. Without accountability, we will not have strong policies in place. Without press freedom, we won’t have any freedom,” Guterres added.

Guterres also cited UNESCO reports that say that in the past fifteen years, there have been some 750 attacks on journalists and news outlets reporting on environmental issues.

“And the frequency of such attacks is rising,” he warned.

The UN chief called on “governments, the private sector, and civil society to join us in reaffirming our commitment to safeguarding press freedom and the rights of journalists and media professionals around the world.”

“The 'Hamas delegation will head to Cairo tomorrow, Saturday, to continue the talks,” the Movement said in a statement issued Friday.

“We emphasize the positive spirit with which the Hamas leadership dealt with the ceasefire proposal it recently received, and we are going to Cairo in the same spirit to reach an agreement.”

Cash liquidity shortage in Gaza portends an economic disaster amid calls for opening banks

Saturday 4-May-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Government Media Office (GMO) in the Gaza Strip has warned that cash liquidity shortage following the cessation of cash sources in the Strip portends a major economic and financial catastrophe as the Israeli occupation aggression enters its eighth month in a row, calling on the Palestinian Monetary Authority to re-operate banks.

The GMO said in a statement on Friday that the cash shortage crisis is deepening in the Gaza and northern Gaza governorates, as all cash sources in northern Gaza have been completely blocked since the first day of the aggression.

It explained that with closed banks and no cash flow in the Strip, the employees have become unable to receive their salaries in a normal way. It also paralyzed the purchasing activity in the market and deprived citizens of receiving remittances from family and relatives abroad.

The people with low income are the most affected group due to the cash crisis, especially among those who have not been able to receive their allocations since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, such as social welfare beneficiaries, and families of martyrs, wounded, and prisoners, which requires urgent emergency intervention, the GMO elaborated.

The GMO called on the Palestinian Monetary Authority to reactivate and re-operate banks in various regions of the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, especially in northern Gaza, to facilitate the process of receiving employees’ salaries of government and private sectors, as well as money transfer operations, and the disbursements of checks and wages.

The GMO appealed to the whole world to put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to end the financial blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and to ensure normal cash flow in the Strip.

The Palestine Monetary Authority had previously announced the destruction of a number of bank branches and headquarters as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression throughout the Gaza Strip, and that it had been impossible to operate them since then because of the ongoing bombardment and electricity cutoff.

Northern Gaza is facing widespread famine that might spread to south, says UN official

ROME, Saturday, May 4, 2024 (WAFA) -

The director of the UN World Food Program (WFP) Cindy McCain, today confirmed that there is a comprehensive famine in the northern Gaza Strip that might spread to south.

McCain confirmed, according to a report published on the organization’s official website, that the population in the Gaza Strip suffers from severe food shortages and food insecurity after seven months of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

She indicated that her statements come based on what the program saw on the ground, adding, “There is real horror, and it is very difficult to look at or hear it, hoping that a ceasefire will be reached."

Humanitarian organizations have warned for months that the Israeli aggression against Gaza has pushed the Strip towards the brink of famine.

On Holy Saturday, the Israeli occupation apartheid regime denies Palestinian Christians their rights

Al-Quds (occupation Jerusalem), Saturday, May 4, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime police deprived Christians access to Al-Quds (occupation Jerusalem) to celebrate religious rituals on Holy Saturday, which precedes Easter.

Local sources reported that the occupation police tightened their measures and beefed-up their military deployments at the gates of the Old City, and obstructed the entry of Christians to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to revive religious rituals.

Since the occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967, restrictions on Christian and Islamic sanctities have been on the rise, while tens of thousands of Israeli settlers have been easily ‘visiting’ the Al-Buraq Wall during the Jewish holidays. In fact, the year 2019 witnessed the largest numbers of Israeli settlers praying there, and an estimated number of more than 100,000 settlers broke into the plaza.

The restrictions are not limited to putting curbs on the number of participants, but rather include depriving Christians in Gaza access to the holy sites in Jerusalem by cancelling the permits that in recent years were granted to only a few. This is not the first time that the occupation has prevented and impeded the exit of Gaza Christians to the West Bank, especially after the 2014 Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Princeton University students begin hunger strike in solidarity with Palestinian people in Gaza

RAMALLAH, Saturday, May 4, 2024 (WAFA) –

A group of students at Princeton University began a hunger strike in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli aggression against the Strip entered its 211th day.

"Princeton University students launched a hunger strike on Friday announcing they wanted to call attention to the suffering of people in Gaza and to demand the university divest from companies tied to Israel's military campaigns."

The statement made by members of the “Palestine Solidarity Camp” at Princeton University said, “We have begun a hunger strike in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are suffering under the ongoing Israeli siege.”

"Millions of Gazans continue to suffer due to ongoing siege by Israel. Two million residents now face a man-made famine. Join us as we stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people," organizers said in an online statement.

They added, "The decision to strike comes in response to the American administration's refusal to meet our demands by withdrawing its support for Israel."

They stated, "United Nations data shows that Gaza contains the largest number of people facing catastrophic famine," noting that "dozens were forced to use fine animal feed to make bread and breakfast during the month of Ramadan."

Since last April 18, American universities have witnessed a student movement in support of the Gaza Strip in the face of the Israeli war, which later expanded and moved to universities in countries such as, France, Britain, Germany, Canada, and India.

By May 3, 2024, local health authorities reported that the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has resulted in 34,622 documented Palestinian fatalities so far, with the majority being children and women. In addition, 77,867 injuries have been documented since the start of the onslaught.

Six Palestinians killed in an Israeli massacre in the town of Dair Al-Ghusoun

TOULKARM, Saturday, May 4, 2024 (WAFA) -

The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces during the military offensive today on the town of Dair Al-Ghusoun, located north of Toulkarm city in the occupied West Bank, has risen to six, according to Palestinian security sources.

The sources told WAFA that the Israeli occupation forces have taken away the bodies of five out of the six martyrs, after besieging and later gradually bombing and destroying the house upon them in an onslaught that lasted for nearly 13 hours.

The Israeli attack involved dozens of infantry units, heavy bulldozers, reconnaissance drones, shoulder-fired missiles, gunfire, and stun grenades.

The six martyrs, including the five taken away by the forces, have not yet been identified. Later today, the Palestinian Red Crescent teams retrieved a sixth martyr from the rubble after the Israeli forces withdrew from the town. His identify remains unknown, too.

As soon as the occupation forces withdrew from the town, locals, ambulances, and civil defense teams rushed to the destroyed house. They began removing the rubble and searching for any injured or martyrs who might still be trapped beneath the debris.

A video footage circulating on social media showed Israeli occupation forces shooting at two young men while they were trying to get out from under the rubble of the demolished house, which led to their murder.

Earlier in the day, WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli bulldozers had embarked on demolishing the house after several hours of tight siege, while imposing a curfew in the surrounding area.

During the onslaught, Israeli forces fired stun grenades and teargas towards a group of journalists while they were covering the events from a building opposite the targeted house. Meanwhile, an Israeli sniper fired at a camera belonging to Al-Arabi TV without reporting any injuries.

The Israeli forces also arrested the homeowner, Salma Basheer Badran, a former prisoner in Israeli jails, after he emerged safe from the rubble. He was subsequently handcuffed, blindfolded, interrogated, and detained.

'Hasan Mulai'hat, the supervisor of the Al-Baidar organization for defending the rights of the Bedouins, said that a group of Israeli colonists broke into the community, where they searched four homes belonging to the Mulai'hat family.

Bedouin communities residing in the region east of the occupied West Bank heavily rely on livestock breeding and herding. These activities are essential for their livelihoods in regions where Israeli restrictions hinder the development of infrastructure.

Colonist violence has long since become part of Palestinians’ daily life under occupation. Israeli security forces enable these actions, which result in Palestinians casualties – injuries and fatalities – as well as damage to land and property. In some cases, they even serve as an armed escort, or even join in the attacks," said the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, B’Tselem.
