In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The Lebanese national news agency reported that an Israeli drone bombed Al-Shaara area on the outskirts of Janta town to the east of Mount Lebanon killing six citizens and wounding two others. The Israeli army had violated the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon on several occasions causing human losses and material damage. *** Palestinian Central Council asserts unity against U.S. President’s comments on forced displacement of the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip RAMALLAH, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Council has reaffirmed its commitment to Palestinian national unity—across the official, popular, and factional levels—rejecting the new-old conspiracy aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and its people's rights, including their right to their land. The statement was made during the conclusion of the Council's meeting in the city of Al-Beereh, where members discussed the growing risks to Palestinian rights and land posed by recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump on the potential displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. The Palestinian Central Council denounced these remarks as a grave violation of international law and a direct attack on the Palestinian right to self-determination in their homeland. They also expressed their refusal of attempts by certain U.S. lawmakers to change the name of the West Bank or legalize Israeli settlement expansion. The Council emphasized its rejection of the U.S. role in disregarding international law and UN resolutions, urging Arab nations to adopt a unified stance in pressing the U.S. administration to reconsider its harmful positions. Furthermore, the Council condemned Israeli annexation and apartheid policies in the West Bank, supported by the U.S., and reaffirmed the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their fight against occupation, displacement, and settlement expansion. The Palestinian Central Council also made it clear that it would not accept any transitional or temporary solutions that undermine or concede the 1967 borders, including East Jerusalem, and called for global recognition of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations in acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by Palestinians over the decades. Reaffirming that Palestinian national unity is essential for overcoming the occupation and securing independence, the Council stressed that this unity must occur within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people, based on the political program approved by the Palestinian National Council. In addition, the Council expressed its gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for their unwavering support of Palestinian rights and their opposition to forced displacement. It also called for an emergency Arab summit to consolidate efforts in support of Palestine and reject displacement. The Council also praised the consistent support for international law and Palestinian rights from regional and global political parties, including members of the U.S. Congress, and expressed appreciation for the United Nations Secretary-General's defense of international law and human rights. The Palestinian Central Council reiterated its commitment to justice through international legal bodies, including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, rejecting President Trump’s punitive measures against the ICC. The meeting concluded with a strong affirmation of the Palestinian people's right to resist the Israeli occupation’s plans, calling this “not merely a choice but an obligation,” and affirming that the focus remains on strengthening and supporting popular resistance as a lawful defense of Palestinian rights. Finally, the Council issued a message of resilience, insisting that the Palestinian cause would not be silenced or erased. “We are like the phoenix, rising from the ashes to rebuild," they declared. "This is our land, soaked with the blood of hundreds of thousands of martyrs. It will only accept the end of occupation, the prosecution of war criminals, and the establishment of our independent state on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.” The meeting was convened at the invitation of the Chairman of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, and included several national leaders and Council members, as well as a wide participation via Zoom from representatives of the Gaza Strip governorates and the Palestinian diaspora. The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, which started on October 7, 2023, to 48,181 martyrs, the health ministry stated. The ministry added that the number of the wounded also surged to 111,638 people. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more martyrs who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip. *** Gaza death toll nears 48,181 as more bodies found in rubble By Ahmed Asmar |08.02.2025 - Update : 08.02.2025 ANKARA, Anadolu -- Palestinian medics and rescue teams recovered 22 more bodies from the rubble in the Gaza Strip, pushing the overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 to 48,181, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Saturday. A ministry statement said that the toll included four Palestinians killed by Israeli fire in the last 48 hours. According to the ministry, five injured people were also admitted to hospitals, taking the number of the injured to 111,638 in the Israeli onslaught. “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the ministry said. The ministry said that the names of 572 Palestinians have been added to the overall death toll after checking their details by relevant authorities. A ceasefire agreement has been in place in Gaza since Jan. 19, halting the Israeli war that has caused widespread destruction and left the Palestinian enclave in ruins. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave. *** Two Palestinian children killed in a wall collapse in Gaza city Saturday 8-February-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Two Palestinian female children were killed on Saturday when a concrete wall of a house, which was destroyed by an Israeli genocidal airstrike on Gaza City, during the war, fell on them, the Gaza Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) said. Another child was injured in the wall collapse that took place as the children were playing near the house, PGMO director Salama Ma'rouf added on his X account. “To stop the martyrs’ death toll, it is crucial to expedite the entry of heavy machinery and equipment, provide fuel, and allow in specialized technical teams in order to handle the rubble and debris and examine partially destroyed homes,” Ma'rouf stressed. *** 'Hamas releases three Israeli captives in Gaza Saturday 8-February-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Three Israeli male captives were released in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, in exchange for the release of 183 Palestinian political prisoners, in the fifth swap as part of the ceasefire deal between the 'Hamas Movement and the Israeli occupation government. During a televised parade held in Gaza’s central city of Dair El-Bala'h, resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas handed the captives over to a Red Cross crew and after they made remarks in Hebrew to a media interviewer. As was the case in previous prisoner handovers, Red Cross representatives signed documents to receive the captives before taking them in vehicles to hand them over to the Israeli occupation army. Three Israeli captives, Eli Sharabi, Or Levy, and Ohad Ben Ami reportedly crossed into Israel (1948 occupied Palestine) later after they were transported by Red Cross vehicles to an Israeli military point in Gaza. In exchange, 183 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, including citizens kidnaped from Gaza during the war, will be freed from Israeli jails later today. *** 183 Palestinian political prisoners freed from the Israeli occupation regime prisons in exchange for three Israeli captives Saturday 8-February-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of 'Hamas, released three Israeli male captives on Saturday in exchange for 183 Palestinian political prisoners from the Israeli occupation regime prisons. On his Telegram account on Friday, spokesman for the Brigades Abu Obeida said that the three Israeli captives were Eli Sharabi, Ohad ben Ami, and Or Levy. The 'Hamas Movement and Palestinian rights groups also published on the same day the names of 183 Palestinian political prisoners who were released on Saturday in exchange for the three Israeli captives. The Palestinian freed prisoners included 111 people who were kidnapped from the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation forces during the Israeli genocidal war. This was the fifth prisoner swap between 'Hamas and the Israeli occupation regime as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. It follows a tense delay that came after Hamas accused the Israeli regime of breaching the ceasefire agreement by preventing humanitarian aid and other vital supplies from entering Gaza. *** 'Hamas: The condition of the released Palestinian political prisoners reveals their tragic state in the Israeli occupation regime prisons Saturday 8-February-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The deteriorating health condition of the released Palestinian prisoners in the exchange deal that took place on Saturday afternoon, as part of the fifth batch, as well as in previous ones, reveals once again the tragic situation of Palestinian detainees in the Israeli prisons, the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, said in a statement. 'Hamas added, “The world today witnesses the significant contrast between the resistance’s humane and ethical treatment of Israeli captives compared to the Israeli repressive and brutal treatment of our detainees.” It pointed out that the immediate transfer of seven prisoners to hospitals upon their release, including the released prisoner and 'Hamas leader Al-Shaikh Jamal Al-Taweel, demonstrates the systematic approach of the Israeli prison administration in its assaults and mistreatment of our detainees, without regard for age or the difficult health conditions many prisoners suffer from. “This aligns with the extremist policies of the occupation government, which practices slow killing against prisoners inside jails.” Hamas warned of the ongoing torture, repression, mistreatment, and medical neglect practiced against the Palestinian detainees and renewed its commitment to spare no effort until they achieve their freedom. The Movement called upon the Palestinian people, the factions, and human rights and humanitarian institutions to take responsibility and work to support the prisoners in all possible ways. The Israeli occupation authorities on Saturday released the fifth batch of detainees as part of the ceasefire agreement. According to the Prisoners’ Media Office, the fifth batch includes 183 prisoners, among them 18 serving life sentences, 54 with high sentences, and 111 from Gaza detained after October 7, 2023. *** ý*** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces ***ý ýA young man was injured by shrapnel during the Israeli occupation raid on the village of Talý ýNablus 8-2-2025 Wafa - A young man was injured, on Saturday evening, during the Israeli occupation forces' raid into the village of Tal, southwest of Nablusýý.ý ýAccording to local sources, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Tal, amid live bullets and poison gas canisters, which led to the injury of a young man with live bullet shrapnel in the leg, and a number of citizens were suffocated.ý ýB.R./O.A.ý *** ýRed Crescent: Transfer of an injured person from Jineen after losing contact with him for 19 daysý ýJineen 8-2-2025 Wafa - The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its teams conveyed a young man injured by live ammunition in the thigh, after losing contact with him 19 days ago.ý ýShe added that the occupying forces detained the ambulance transporting the young man for a period of time before allowing it to take him to the hospital.ý ýF.E./Y.Iý. *** ýSuffocation injuries as a result of the Israeli occupation incursion into Hebroný ýAl-Khaleel (Hebron)n 8-2-2025 Wafa – Dozens of citizens were suffocated on Saturday evening as a result of the Israeli occupation forces' incursion into the city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron).ý ýOur correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed the city of Hebron and raided the homes of the released detainees Iyad Abu Shukhaidim and Yasir Al-Sharabati, and fired sound bombs and poison gas at citizens and inside Al-Sharabati's house among women and children, causing dozens of people to suffocate, a number of whom were transferred to the hospital.ý ýG.T/W.Aý. *** Israeli military continues its wide-scale invasion of Tulkarm for 13th day TULKARM, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued their wide-scale assault on Tulkarm city and its refugee camp for the thirteenth day in a row, targeting local citizens and their properties during their ongoing offensive. According to our correspondent, the Israeli military deployed additional reinforcements, particularly infantry soldiers, to the city and refugee camp. These forces spread across the streets and neighborhoods, intensifying restrictions on the movement of residents, creating a daily routine of oppression since the beginning of the attack. Meanwhile, Israeli forces pursued citizens in the city center, forcing several shops to close their doors. They deployed military vehicles in the streets, obstructing movement of vehicles, and conducted raids on a number of homes in the eastern part of the city. During the raids, the soldiers searched the homes, damaged their contents, and interrogated residents, seizing surveillance camera footage in the process. At the same time, the occupation forces also positioned infantry units along Nablus Street, which runs parallel to the entrances of the Tulkarm refugee camp. They conducted searches in agricultural lands, residential areas, and facilities, while also seizing a residential building in the area, converting it into a military outpost and sniper positions. Meanwhile, the siege on Thabit Thabit Government Hospital continued, with Israeli soldiers stationed at the hospital entrances, obstructing ambulance and medical staff movements. The forces are still occupying nearby commercial buildings surrounding the hospital. Within the refugee camp, Israeli forces remain heavily deployed across all its streets and alleys. They have continued to raid homes, most of which are now empty and destroyed after their residents were forcibly displaced. The forces also seized high-rise buildings, converting them into military barracks and sniper posts, while indiscriminately firing live ammunition into the streets. The ongoing military onslaught has forced the remaining residents, especially those on the outskirts of the camp, to flee towards the city, with surveillance drones continuing to fly at low altitudes over Toulkarm and the refugee camps. The situation for those still remaining in their homes—mainly the elderly, sick, women, and children—has worsened, as they face severe shortages in food, medical supplies, drinking water, and baby formula. Earlier today, civil defense teams, the Palestinian police, and the Palestine Red Crescent Society were able to enter the camp to provide assistance as part of a campaign to support families in the camp. They ensured that essential supplies, including food, medicine, and drinking water, were delivered to the affected families. The humanitarian crisis in Toulkarm refugee camp remains dire, as the occupation has completely or partially destroyed homes and commercial establishments, while also detonating and setting many buildings on fire. Along with the full destruction of infrastructure, the camp is suffering from a total lack of water, electricity, communication, and internet services. Access for specialized repair teams from the municipality and other services is blocked by the Israeli military. M.N. *** Israeli occupation forces open fire on families forced to flee their homes in Al-Fari’a refugee camp TOUBAS, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces opened fire today on several families who were forced to flee their homes in Al-Fari’a refugee camp, north of the occupied West Bank. No injuries were reported. The development comes amid the ongoing military aggression that has persisted for the seventh consecutive day. Since the early hours of the day, dozens of families have been displaced from the camp under threat of gunfire, as Israeli soldiers continued their raids in the area. The assault has forced the residents to abandon their homes and seek refuge elsewhere, with many facing extreme conditions and a lack of basic necessities. M.N. *** Nine Palestinians kidnapped by Israeli forces in Toubas Governorate TOUBAS, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained nine Palestinian young men today from the Toubas Governorate, north of the occupied West Bank, including eight from Al-Fari'a refugee camp and one from the village of Bardala. Kamal Bani Oada, the director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Toubas, reported that eight of the detainees were taken by Israeli forces during their ongoing raid in al-Fari’a refugee camp. Additionally, a young man from the village of Bardala, was detained as he passed through an Israeli military checkpoint near Jericho. These detentions are not isolated incidents but part of a systemic and unlawful policy of imprisonment that affects thousands of Palestinians, many of whom are detained without charge or trial in what is known as administrative detention. M.N. *** ýThe Israeli Occupation Forces' Tayaseer Checkpoint: Blocking the Light Coming from the Eastý ýTubas 8-2-2025 Wafa - By Al-'Harith Al-'Husniý ýEight o'clock on Friday evening in Persian in the northern Jordan Valleyýý.ý ýA'hmed Dabbat arrived at his home in Khirbet after a six-hour journey, mostly moving between bypass roads and Al-'Hamra military checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valleyýý.ý ýWhen you know that this normal journey used to take only half an hour, through the Tayaseer checkpoint, east of Toubas, you will be surprisedýý.ý ýThe question remains, why so long?ýý!.ý ýThe answer is here.ý ýFive days ago, the (Israeli occupation forces) completely closed the Tayaseer checkpoint, east of Tubas, to the movement of citizensýý.ý ýWith the withdrawal of the occupation from the town of Taammoun and the continuation of its aggression on Al-Fari'a refugeee camp, south of Tubas, for the seventh consecutive day, thousands of citizens, from all segments, had to take detours extending for hundreds of kilometers, to reach Al-'Hamra military checkpoint, southeast of Tubas, one of the two main checkpoints separating Tubas from the Jordan Valleyýý.ý ýIt is even darker to learn that the road from Toubas to Al-Hamra checkpoint, without bypass roads, does not normally take more than half an hourýý.ý ýWhen the fog reached Al-'Hamra checkpoint, it was close to two in the afternoon, with twenty-five vehicles in frontýý of himýý.ý ýBut when he crossed the checkpoint, it was only fifteen minutes and from the checkpoint to his dwelling, only fifteen minutesýý.ý ýPalestinians spend long hours at checkpoints, in a similar way of lifeýý.ý ýIn the West Bank, according to official figures issued by the Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements, there are 998 military checkpoints and gates, including 18 iron gates erected by the occupation since the beginning of this year, and 146 others erected after the seventh of October 2023ýý.ý ýThe ýýsight of vehicle queues at military checkpoints that now divide the West Bank into separate geographical units has become commonplaceýý.ý ýDhabat said it was rare to reach the checkpoint and you could not find vehicles in front of youýý.ý ýThe young man, who works as a merchant transporting vegetables from the Jordan Valley to the Palestinian market in the West Bank, said: "I entered the areas for the first time, to reach the checkpoint."ý ýThe Tayaseer checkpoint, which was erected by the occupation at the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, is witnessing varying military intensifications, ranging in intensity from time to time. Historically, the lifestyle of Palestinians has been coupled with the general mood at the checkpointýý.ý ýHowever, at least three years ago, the occupation returned and prepared the checkpoint again, making the presence of the occupation soldiers almost permanentýý.ý ýIn conjunction with the war of extermination launched by Israel against our people in the Gaza Strip, on the seventh of October 2023, and its negative repercussions on the security situation in the West Bank, the checkpoint has become notorious among citizensýý.ý "ýOne of the rules in which Palestinians put their lives in order."ý ýWhat is happening at the military checkpoints has become more familiar to citizens for at least two years, but the intensity of military tightening has increased since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effectýý.ý ýThe result of the complete closure of the checkpoint for the fifth consecutive day in terms of school attendance in the northern Jordan Valley is catastrophicýý.ý ýAccording to official figures issued by the Directorate of Education in Tubas governorate, 110 out of 118 workers in the educational corps must pass the barrier to the educational process in seven schools in the northern Jordan Valleyýý.ý ýWith staff unable to reach their workplaces in schools in the northern Jordan Valley, the educational process through which 937 students receive their educational rights is paralyzedýý.ý ýIn parallel with all these catastrophic results of the occupation closure, the daily lives of Palestinians have become almost paralyzed, due to the closure of the barrierýý.ý ýFaris Faqha said: "I haven't moved from Al-'Ain Al-Baydha to Tubas for a week. As long as it's not necessary, I don't need to move."ý ýLike its jurisprudence, thousands of citizens consider the barrier a lonely outlet to reduce time and effort in their livesýý.ý ýOn a normal morning before the Tayaseer checkpoint was closed, while citizens waited in a long line of vehicles, the sun peeked out from behind the mountains towering east, but as it remained closed, it blocks all the light that illuminates a better life for Palestiniansýý.ý ý/Y.Iý. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Note: Despite the Trump administration support for the Israeli occupation apartheid regime, the U.S. official policy is still considering the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories as illegal. *** IOAR forces two Palestinian Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) citizens to raze homes Saturday 8-February-2025 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem, (PIC) The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) forced on Saturday two Palestinian citizens to demolish their own homes in the Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) neighborhoods of Jabel Al-Mukabbir neighborhood and Umm Tuba at the pretext of unlicensed construction. One of the owners, Omar Bashir, said that the Israeli municipality ordered him to knock down a room of his house in Jabel Al-Mukabbir, where he lives with his wife and two girl children. The Israeli municipality also displaced a Jerusalemite family after forcing it to raze its own house in Umm Toaba. A family of eight was living in that house, which had been built about 25 years ago. Palestinian Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) homeowners find themselves forced to demolish their homes at their own expense in order to avoid paying the Israeli municipality exorbitant money in fines and demolition expenses. The rate at which Palestinian homes and structures are demolished in east Jerusalem has almost doubled since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, human rights groups and monitoring organizations say. The demolitions are ordered by the Israeli municipal authority which claims that many Palestinian homes and structures are illegally built without permission. Almost all attempts by Palestinian families in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) to apply for planning permission are rejected by the IOAR. That means growing families say they have no choice but to build without permits and face the consequences – huge fines and demolition orders. *** Illegal Israeli settlers attack Palestinian citizen near Al-Aqaba village, east of Toubas TUBAS, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – A group of the illegal Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian man on Saturday evening near the village of Al-'Aqaba, located to the east of Toubas in the northern West Bank, according to local sources. Mahdi Dharaghma, a local Palestinian official, reported that several colonists stormed the home of 'Ali Mu'hammed 'Awadh, a local resident. The colonists physically assaulted 'Awadh and attempted to steal his tents. The northern Jordan Valley has long been a hotspot for attacks by colonists, often carried out under the protection of the Israeli military, leaving Palestinian residents vulnerable to such violence and intimidation. PRCS reported that an Israeli military vehicle rammed their ambulance while it was transferring a patient suffering from thalassemia from the camp. This incident takes place amid an ongoing Israeli military aggression on the camp, which has now entered its seventh consecutive day. The assault has caused the displacement of dozens of families and resulted in significant damage to the camp’s infrastructure and residents' property. M.N. *** Israeli occupation forces block vehicles and disrupt movement in Jineen Jineen, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces blocked vehicles belonging to Palestinian citizens today and disrupted their movement in Jineen, north of the occupied West Bank. Local sources reported that an Israeli military unit broke into the industrial area of Jineen city, obstructing the passage of citizens and blocking several vehicles. Soldiers reportedly conducted identity checks on the vehicle owners during the assault. This incident is part of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Jineen city and refugee camp, which has now entered its 19th consecutive day. The assault has resulted in the killing of 25 Palestinians, with dozens more wounded and detained. In addition to this, the Israeli occupation forces have deployed further military reinforcements to Jineen city and its refugee camp vicinity, while reconnaissance drones continue to fly intensively at low altitudes over the area. M.N. *** Israeli occupation forces shut down Ibdaa' Center in Al-Duhaisha refugee camp Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces shut down the Ibdaa' Center today in Al-Duhaisha refugee camp, located south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) in the occupied West Bank. According to Khalid Al-Sayfi, the Executive Director of the center, Israeli occupation forces raided his home in the camp and handed him an official notice ordering the closure of the center for six months. The notice provided no explanation for the action taken. Al-Sayfi emphasized that the Ibdaa' Center is dedicated to academic, cultural, artistic, and sports affairs, serving as a key institution in promoting the intellectual and creative development of the Palestinian community. He described the closure as an attack on the cultural and scientific awareness of the Palestinian people. M.N. *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** UN rapporteur: Gaza can be rebuilt without displacing Palestinians NEW YORK, February 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing, Balakrishnan Rajagopal, has stated that it is possible to rebuild the Gaza Strip without displacing its Palestinian population. In a press statement on Saturday, Rajagopal highlighted that approximately 70% of Gaza’s buildings had been destroyed as a result of Israeli military aggression. However, he emphasized that around 70% of the region could be rebuilt within a period of 5 to 10 years. Rajagopal also provided an estimated cost for the reconstruction of Gaza, which is projected at around $60 billion. To date, none of the urgent needs for the electricity distribution sector, which the electricity distribution company has requested, have been provided to enable electricity delivery to those facilities.” The company continued, “Providing electricity has become an urgent necessity to ensure the minimum level of basic services for the population, amid the significant deterioration of the electrical network infrastructure, which is difficult to repair without the necessary and essential equipment and machinery.” The company reiterated its urgent call for the provision and facilitation of the entry of essential equipment for its operations in the first phase, which includes: “300 electric distribution transformers, 400 kilometers of medium-voltage cables, 500 kilometers of low-voltage cables, 2,000 iron poles, 15,000 wooden poles with installation accessories, 25 cranes, 10 MAN vehicles, 10 vehicles to support the movement of engineering teams and equipment, and 5 excavators.” The company emphasized that “the consequences of the continued power outages, as well as the absence of heating sources in light of the severe weather conditions and freezing cold, are very serious and pose a real threat to the lives of citizens in general and to hundreds of injured and sick individuals in particular. The absence of electricity paralyzes the health sector and limits hospitals’ ability to fulfill their duties towards service recipients, especially since electricity is the main source for operating vital medical devices.” It clarified that “the lack of electricity affects the water and sewage sector, preventing citizens from accessing clean water, and limits municipalities’ ability to pump and treat sewage water and manage stormwater, as well as waste disposal. This threatens to increase pollution and the spread of infectious diseases. Additionally, power outages negatively impact the educational process, delaying academic achievement, especially among children, and presenting education administrations with unprecedented challenges at this level.” According to the company’s statement, “Furthermore, the repercussions of the continued power outages and the failure to provide urgent needs for the electricity sector will have a significant impact on other central sectors such as services, communications, and mills and bakeries, which are directly connected to the lives of citizens and cannot be dispensed with.” A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip began on January 19, lasting for 42 days in its first phase, during which negotiations are underway to start a second and then a third phase, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States. From October 7, 2023, to January 19, 2025, Israeli forces, supported by the U.S., committed acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 159,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, and more than 14,000 missing, marking one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world. *** =============================================================================================================================== Editorial
