In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The American-British aggression targeted the Jarban area south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, Yemeni media sources reported. Three American-British air raids targeted the Harf Sufyan district in Amran governorate, north of Sanaa, the sources clarified, saying that the aggression also targeted the Al-Luhayyah district in Al-Hodeidah governorate, west of the country. The US military on Wednesday said its forces struck weapons depots used by the Houthi group in Yemen to target naval warships and merchant vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. “The Houthis used these facilities to conduct attacks against US Navy warships and merchant vessels in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden,” it said in a statement. The Houthis, in solidarity with Gaza, which has been facing a genocidal Israeli war since October 2023, have targeted Israeli cargo ships or ones linked with Tel Aviv in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, vowing to continue operations until the attacks on the enclave end. Since the beginning of 2024, a coalition led by the US has been carrying out airstrikes that it said target Houthi locations in Yemen in response to the group’s Red Sea attacks. ****** *** Note: The following figures only include the killed and injured Palestinians who have been accounted for by the Palestinian hospitals. The victims who are not carried to the hospitals are not accounted for. **** Gaza death toll tops 46,006 amid Israel’s genocidal war Wafa and Anadolu news agencies -- At least 70 more Palestinians were killed, in 3 massacres, in relentless Israeli genocidal attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll since October 2023 to 46,006, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Thursday. A Ministry statement added that some 109,378 others were injured in the ongoing assault. The Israeli occupation forces killed 70 people and injured 104 others in three massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said. “Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added. Israel has continued a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire. The second year of genocide in Gaza has drawn growing international condemnation, with officials and institutions labeling the attacks and blocking of aid deliveries as a deliberate attempt to destroy a population. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza. *** Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 461 Thursday 9-January-2025 GAZA, (PIC) In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 461st consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas. Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Thursday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens. The Israeli army’s large-scale genocidal campaign in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalya and Bait Lahya, has entered day 97, where its forces continue to intensively bomb homes and shelters and attack civilians while imposing a tight siege on the entire area. Deliberate Israeli attacks on ambulance and civil defense workers already deprived northern Gaza of any rescue services. The Israeli artillery shelled the vicinity of the Mufti land north of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. The Israeli tanks also fired shells and machine gunfire at the Al-Mawasi area in Rafa'h in the southern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Israeli warplanes launched intensive air raids throughout the night and until dawn today, targeting the northwestern areas of the Gaza Strip (Al-Sudaniya, Al-Mukhabarat, and Al-Karamah). At least two Palestinians were killed, including a child, and several others were injured in an Israeli attack on the Abu Kharouf family home in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. *** Israeli genocidal attack on a school in Jabalya kills four Palestinians Thursday 9-January-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli military attacked the Erbakan school in northern Gaza, killing four people, including a woman and a child, medical sources revealed on Thursday evening. Several others have also been injured during the attack that targeted a school-turned-shelter in Jabalya Al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip. The Health Ministry has updated the death toll from Israel’s war. The 46,006 Palestinians recorded killed are those victims who were actually received at overrun hospitals in Gaza. Thousands are still trapped under the rubble of homes and residential buildings hit by Israeli forces. Among the dead and buried are thousands of children, women, and elderly Palestinians. The UN agency for children, UNICEF, says since the beginning of 2025 at least 74 children have been killed in Israeli attacks. *** ýOne martyr and 3 wounded in Israeli shelling on Khan Younusý ýKhan Younus, 10-1-2025 Wafa - A citizen was killed and three others were wounded, on Friday morning, in an Israeli shelling on the city of Khan Younus in the southern Gaza Strip.ý ýOur correspondent confirmed the death of a citizen and the injury of three others, as a result of the bombing of an Israeli march gathering of citizens in the city of Khan Younus.ý ýThe Israeli occupation has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since the seventh of October 2023, resulting in the death of 46,006 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 109,378 others, in an indefinite toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.ý ýS.A./M.Bý *** Several Palestinians killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza GAZA, January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians were killed and others injured in separate Israeli military airstrikes across Gaza City, according to local medical sources. The airstrikes targeted civilians near the Barbari Station at the Jalaa and Al-Sa'haba junction in Gaza, resulting in multiple civilians killed and several others injured, many of which are reported to be in critical condition. Additionally, 43-year-old Sama'h Al-Madhoun from Jabalya, a town in northern Gaza, succumbed to her wounds after being severely wounded in an Israeli airstrike on displacement tents in the Khan Younis area several days ago. She joined her children, Lina, Dima, and Baraa, who had also been killed in the same attack. Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces set fire to dozens of homes in northern Gaza, triggering extensive fires in various regions. The affected areas include Tel Al-Za'tar, the Abu Eita junction, Behteemi Street, the Nassar junction, Abu Qamar Station, the remains of the Al-Alami neighborhood, the area around the Gaza Electric Company, and Razan Towers. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 46,006 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 109,378 others injured. Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks. Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. M.N. *** UNICEF: 74 children martyred in Gaza in first week of 2025 Thursday 9-January-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported that at least 74 children in the Gaza Strip were martyred in the first seven days of 2025, due to relentless violence. The UNICEF executive director Catherine Russell, said in a post on X, eight infants and newborn children have died since December 26, due to low body temperature, while more than a million Gazan children live in temporary tents. “UNICEF has long warned that inadequate shelter, lack of access to nutrition and healthcare, the dire sanitary situation, and now the winter weather put the lives of all children in Gaza at risk. Newborns and children with medical conditions are especially vulnerable,” Russell added. *** Gaza death toll likely 41% higher than reported: Lancet By Al Mayadeen English January 10, 2025 A study released Thursday suggests the official Palestinian death toll in the Israeli war on Gaza may have undercounted casualties by 41% through mid-2024, due to the collapse of Gaza's healthcare system. A study released on Thursday suggests that the official Palestinian count of deaths in the Israeli war on Gaza may have missed as many as 41% of casualties through mid-2024 due to the collapse of Gaza's healthcare system. Academics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Yale University, and other institutions conducted the peer-reviewed statistical analysis published in The Lancet journal. The researchers employed a statistical technique known as capture-recapture analysis to estimate the death toll from the Israeli air and ground assault against Gaza during the first nine months of the war, spanning from October 2023 to the end of June 2024. The researchers estimated that 64,260 people died from traumatic injuries during this period, which is approximately 41% higher than the official count from the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza. The study indicated that 59.1% of the victims were women, children, and individuals over 65, but it did not offer an estimate of the number of Palestinian combatants among the deceased. More than 46,000 people have been killed in the Israeli war on Gaza, according to Palestinian health officials. 'Numbers are higher than reported' The Lancet study noted that the Gaza Health Ministry's ability to maintain accurate electronic death records had previously been reliable but declined during the Israeli war. This decline was attributed to strikes on hospitals and other healthcare facilities, as well as disruptions to digital communication systems. Reports also indicated that many bodies were buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings, leading to their exclusion from certain casualty counts. To address these gaps, the Lancet study used a method commonly employed to assess deaths in other war zones, such as Kosovo and Sudan. According to the study, by analyzing data from at least two independent sources, researchers were able to identify individuals who appeared on multiple casualty lists. Greater overlap between the lists indicates more accurate records, while less overlap suggests that many deaths have gone unreported. According to the study, this information helps estimate the total number of fatalities. For the Gaza study, researchers compared the official death toll from the Health Ministry, which initially relied solely on bodies brought to hospitals in the early months of the war. Over time, the count expanded to include data from an online survey distributed by the ministry to Palestinians both inside and outside Gaza. The survey asked for information such as Palestinian ID numbers, names, age at death, gender, death location, and reporting source. Additionally, obituaries shared on social media were used as a data source. "Our research reveals a stark reality: the true scale of traumatic injury deaths in Gaza is higher than reported," lead author Zaina Jamaluddeen told Reuters. *** ý*** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces *** Israeli occupation forces assault two young men in Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Al-Khaleel (Hebron), January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian young men were injured today after being assaulted by Israeli occupation forces in the city of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank. According to local sources, the Israeli forces stationed at a military checkpoint leading to the Old City and Al-Ibraheemi Mosque stopped the two men as they were attempting to reach the mosque. The soldiers took the young men inside the military checkpoint, where they were subjected to severe physical assault, resulting in injuries and bruises. The two victims were later transported by the Palestinian Red Crescent medical teams to a local hospital for treatment. M.N. *** Palestinian sustains injury from Israeli gunfire near Nablus NABLUS, January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian Thursday sustained an injury from the Israeli occupation army gunfire in Sebastya town, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local source. Mu'hammed 'Azzam, Mayor of Sebastya, said that a civilian sustained an injury after being shot by Israeli army gunfire and another suffered wounds in the head after being beaten by the soldiers in the town. He added that the occupation forces barged their way into the town, simultaneously while firing barrages of gunfire and flares, shortly after Israeli special forces sneaked their way into the town. He confirmed that the town has been the target of daily Israeli raids, in the course of which the forces provoke tension and violence and order the closure of local stores. The Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids, which also take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. K.F. *** Israeli forces raid the town of Dair Istya, kidnapping and mistreating civilians RAMALLAH, January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces carried out a violent raid on the town of Dair Istya, located northwest of Salfeet, on Thursday evening, subjecting civilians to mistreatment. According to activist Nadthmi Al-Salman, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the town in large numbers, forcefully searching homes and causing significant damage to the contents of some properties in Al-Sha'b area, to the north of the town. In addition to the property destruction, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped young men under the age of 60, gathering them in one location, where they were held without clear cause. MM.N. *** IOFs launch a raiding and kidnapping campaign across the West Bank Thursday 9-January-2025 WEST BANK, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) launched at dawn Thursday a large-scale raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank, which led to the outbreak of clashes in several areas. In Toulkarm, violent clashes erupted in Nour Shams and Toulkarm refugee camp after IOFs stormed the area, assaulted a woman, and kidnapped a young man. A massive destruction was left following the raid. The Israeli occupation forces and snipers were deployed in large numbers in Toulkarm refugee camp amid heavy live fire. The Israeli troops also vandalized the water, electricity, and internet networks in the camp, which led to their interruption in large parts of the camp. The IOFs also stormed and violently searched several local homes, kidnapping and investigating their owners and turning some of them into military barracks. Several families were forced to evacuate their homes during the raid. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was injured after the IOFs brutally attacked her in Al-Ghanem neighborhood. She was immediately transferred to the Martyr Thabit Thabit Governmental Hospital. In a related context, large numbers of the Israeli occupation soldiers stormed the 'Izbet Al-Jarad suburb east of the city after an Israeli special unit stormed the area. The Israeli occupation forces then began raiding local homes, and kidnapped the young man Tha-ir Sali'h Shuraim, the brother of the martyr Mamoun who was killed last November. In Salfeet, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Zawiya town and raided and searched several local homes. Local sources reported that the IOFs stormed the town amid heavy fire of sound bombs, raided several homes, and assaulted two brothers who were later taken to hospital for treatment. In Qalqilya, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped two brothers and assaulted another young man in 'Azzoun town. The IOFs also raided several local homes. During the raids, the IOFs detonated an explosive device inside a local home after forcing the family to evacuate their home and remain for hours in the bitter cold. The explosion also resulted in partial destruction of the house. Along the same line, the Israeli occupation forces set up a military checkpoint at the eastern entrance to Qalqilya, stopped citizens’ vehicles, and checked their personal IDs, which caused a traffic jam. *** IOFs withdraw from Toulkarm, 'Hamas pledges to continue resistance Thursday 9-January-2025 Toulkarm, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) withdrew from Toulkarm city and its refugee camps on Thursday, after a two-day long aggression, causing widespread destruction to the infrastructure and public property. Local sources reported that the IOFs blew up the house of the detainee Ma'hmoud Sulait in Toulkarm refugee camp, destroying the infrastructure in the streets of the camp, including water, electricity, and internet networks, which led to service interruption in a large area. Israeli occupation soldiers raided dozens of houses, amid acts of violence, searches, and abuse of citizens, detaining them in one room and subjecting them to field investigation, and turning a number of them into military barracks and sniper locations, while other groups were expelled from their homes. Meanwhile, the IOFs stormed Nour Shams refugee camp east of the city, and sent more of their vehicles and bulldozers into the camp, where they began destroying the infrastructure and citizens’ property along Nablus Street, the vicinity of the Martyr Saif Abu Labda roundabout, the entrance to Manshiya neighborhood and the center of the camp. On Wednesday evening, a 36-year-old woman was wounded after being assaulted by the IOF in the Tulkarem camp, as the young man Tha-ir Shuraim, a brother of a martyr, was arrested from his home in 'Izbet Al-Jarrad, east of the city. For its part, Hamas said the IOF’s repeated raids on the city of Toulkarm, its camps and the accompanying crimes and destruction, “will not discourage our people to continue its confrontation and resistance of the occupation forces.” In a statement on Thursday, the Movement’s official, Abdul Ra'hman Shadeed, said the resistance in the West Bank is an extension of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza along the path of victory and liberation. Shadeed praised the resistance of Tulkarem, its refugee camps and its factions, foremost of which is the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stressing that the ongoing occupation crimes will not weaken the resistance and the Palestinian people’s determination on embracing and supporting it. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Note: Despite the Biden administration total support for the Israeli genocidal war on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the U.S. official policy is still considering the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories as illegal. *** IOFs abuse two young men at military checkpoint in Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Thursday 9-January-2025 Al-Khaleel (Hebron), (PIC) Two Palestinian young men were wounded and bruised on Thursday after being assaulted and abused at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) in Al-Khaleel (Hebron), in the southern West Bank. Local sources reported that the IOFs stationed at one of the military checkpoints leading to the market and the Ibraheemi Mosque in the Old City stopped the two men while trying to reach the mosque. The IOFs bundled the two young men into the military checkpoint, and subjected them to severe beating, leading to injuries and bruises. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews in Al-Khaleel (Hebron), transferred the two victims to the hospital. *** Israeli occupation forces seize two vehicles during raid in Ni'leen, west of Ramallah RAMALLAH, January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces seized two vehicles this evening during a raid on the town of Ni'leen, located west of Ramallah, according to local sources. The sources reported that the Israeli forces stormed the town with several military vehicles, confiscating two cars before withdrawing from the area. No detentions or injuries were reported during the assault. M.N. *** Illegal Israeli settlers install caravans on Palestinian lands, north of Toubas Thursday 9-January-2025 Toubas, (PIC) A group of the illegal Israeli settlers placed caravans on Palestinians’ lands, east of Tammoun town, north of Toubas city in the West Bank on Wednesday evening. The official in charge of the Jordan Valley file in Tubas Governorate, Mu'taz Bisharat, reported that a group of settlers placed caravans in Al-Tha’la area, amid concerns of turning it later on into a settlement outpost. He explained that these caravans were installed on lands owned by Palestinian citizens from Tammoun. *** Illegal Israeli settlers raid the village of Bardala, in the northern Jordan Valley, attacking Palestinian villagers there Wednesday 8-January-2025 JORDAN VALLEY, (PIC) The people of the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley confronted on Wednesday a group of the illegal fanatic Israeli settlers who raided the village under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOFs), leading to the outbreak of clashes in the area. Local sources reported that a group of settlers attempted to steal the cows of citizen Jamal Sawafta in the western region of the village. The sources added that the villagers confronted the attacking settlers, triggering clashes. Settlers’ attacks on the village have escalated over the past days, the last of which was storming the Bardala School, under IOF protection, igniting confrontations that led to the injury of a number of citizens. *** IOFs take measurements of martyr Dababsa’s house in preparation for its demolition Thursday 9-January-2025 NABLUS, (PIC) Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) took measurements of the house of the Qassam Brigades commander Ja'far Dababsa in the town of Badthan, northeast of Nablus, early Thursday morning, in preparation for its demolition. IOF soldiers stormed the house of martyr Ja'far Dababsa, “the mastermind of the Funduq shooting attack in Qalqilya,” and took measurements after wreaking havoc on its contents. Dababsa was martyred last Tuesday in an IOF cowardly assassination in the village of Wadi Badthan in Nablus in northern West Bank. The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Movement, announced on Wednesday that it was responsible for the shooting attack in the Funduq village in Qalqilya, which resulted in the death of three Israelis, in coordination with the Al-Quds Brigades and the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa. The armed wing revealed “the role of martyr leader Ja'far Ahmed Dababsa as the mastermind of the heroic operation that conveyed a message of steadfastness and field unity of the resistance.” It had earlier mourned leader Dababsa, stating: “We remember the journey of our martyr leader who had significant contributions in resisting the Zionist enemy, starting from the Al-Aqsa Intifada, through the Jerusalem Uprising, and culminating in the Al-Aqsa Flood,” affirming that “its fighters will continue on the same path until liberation.” *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** UN reports worsening hunger crisis in Gaza amid severe shortages and access restrictions NEW YORK, January 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported today that the hunger crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, exacerbated by severe shortages of supplies, stringent access restrictions, and violent armed looting. In its daily report, OCHA stated that humanitarian partners in central Gaza had exhausted all their supply stocks by Sunday. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities continue to block most requests to allow food aid through the Erez checkpoint, located in the west, to reach areas south of the Gaza Valley. The report further highlighted that approximately 120,000 metric tons of food aid—enough to provide full rations to Gaza’s population for over three months—remain stuck outside the region. Humanitarian partners are warning that without the delivery of additional supplies, the distribution of food parcels to starving families will remain severely limited. Over 50 community kitchens that provide more than 200,000 meals daily in central and southern Gaza are also at risk of closure in the coming days. The World Food Program (WFP) reported that, as of Monday, only five of the 20 bakeries it supports in the sector were still operational, all of them in Gaza City. These bakeries rely on the continued delivery of fuel from partners in southern Gaza to stay open. OCHA also warned that the fuel shortage needed to operate generators is crippling Gaza’s already devastated health system, endangering the lives of patients. The ongoing attacks on northern Gaza have severely disrupted healthcare services for the remaining survivors, with access to Al-'Awda Hospital in Jabalya—currently the only partially functional hospital in northern Gaza—being extremely limited. Additionally, the UN has continued its efforts to reach northern Gaza, including an attempted mission yesterday, but Israeli authorities have consistently rejected these efforts, further compounding the crisis. *** Ramping up criticism of Israel, Pope Francis calls situation in Gaza ‘shameful’ Thursday 9-January-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Pope Francis on Thursday stepped up his recent criticism of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, calling the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave “very serious and shameful”. In a yearly address to diplomats delivered on his behalf by an aide, Francis appeared to reference deaths caused by winter cold in Gaza, where there is almost no electricity. “We cannot accept that children are freezing to death because hospitals have been destroyed or a country’s energy network has been hit,” he said. “We cannot in any way accept the bombing of civilians,” he added. The pope, 88, was present for the address but asked an aide to read it as he is recovering from a cold. The Gaza’s Health Ministry has updated the death toll from Israel’s war. *** *** =============================================================================================================================== Editorial
